This was a Christmas gift for my special needs son who loves to build. His first tool kit. Within minutes of using the hammer to pull a small nail, the head of the hammer broke off. My son was being supervised while using the hammer and was using it correctly, so the hammer breaking was a result of incredibly cheap quality, not user error. You get what you pay for, lesson learned. Please don't waste your money on this set.

Im not sure how good this tool kit would be to take on household repairs, but I think it has a good use in a different way.For everyday repairs, it's underwhelming. Sure you can get use out of the screwdrivers, the razor knife, and the Allen keys. But the tape measure is too small to be useful, the hammer is too small to really pound nails, and the pliers are too thin to last for any length of time if used regularly.BUT - - it makes a pretty good emergency tool kit for keeping in your vehicle. Ditch the tape measure and replace it with a roll of electrical tape, toss in a handful of ~12in zip ties, and replace the scissors with a small crescent (adjustable) wrench... And bingo you have a nice emergency tool kit with a nice case.Recommended as explained here.

This compact tool kit is great for starter tools. It's a great value. Are these high quality tools? No they are not. But they will handle the basics. Great for having in the car or sending to college with the kids.
