So... as reviewers had noted the design is flawed. The retainers don't hold once they start heating up. Because they are the thinnest piece of metal they get hottest first. Then it's a crap shoot. If you rotate the iron on the wrong axis the retainer and the letters fall out. If you master all that, it works great.

It’sa little on the cheap side but hey, you get what you pay for. I do like that it’s customizable and easy to use.

i liked the idea of it, especially because it was for my dad because he cooks steak all the time!! the quality of the letter was a little messy, like not the letters themselves, but the piece of metal they were on looked like they were cut out of something but not cut very well. either way that’s not a big deal considering it won’t ruin the branding process, so it’s a really cool gift that I think a lot of people would enjoy and be excited about!!

It arrived in poor condition - box had been taped shut but was ripped open and the packing bag had several holes which meant the contents in the box fell out of the box and the packaging bag. I only had about half of the letters. I requested a replacement from the company very clearly but I just received instructions on how to return the product. I didn't have time to proceed with all the steps to return the product so decided to try and use it and it didn't even brand the steak well with the very few words I was able to spell. The company doesn't take care in proper packaging, responding to customers actual requests and clearly produce a sub par product.

The letters don’t stay in place everything constantly falls out even with the side pieces. It’s cute but it’s worth the money we paid.

This shows that it would work great on meat, but we chose to use it for branding wedding coasters. Simple to use with interchangeable letters. Long handle to keep safety first. Wipe clean soap water.
