The advert shows UV blocking, the added sticker ON the product box says UV blocking BUT the product box itself has zero indication that it is a UV blocking product. Therefore I returned this VERY EXPENSIVE purchase. Just sketched me out. I just couldn't trust it with my new couches, it would be an expensive mistake. Plus the reviews really say it all, the folks that took the time to show the differences (or lack there of) were enlightening to say the least.

Edit : After having this "uv filter" up for about a month, I noticed the consistency of my nail gel polish changing (I own a nail salon with a medium size window). I made a UV gel curing test, letting the gel sit on my desk on a closed day where no lights were on. When I came back (mid day) the gel let on my desk had cure. So if you are looking for something that filters UV so you don't ruin thousands of dollars of products, this is not it. I should have done the testing on the same day I set it up, lesson learned.Installation : Following the instructions to a tee is key here for an easy ans flawless installation. Make sure the window and the sticky side are fully covered in soapy water.I installed it alone, was easy, did not have any issues. I left a millimeter between the film and the glass edge so the water would come out when I squeegeed, otherwise it made a water bubble in a corner.

The videos make this product appear easy to install. Not even close! This film is:-very easy to kink-not pliable-extremely tacky no matter how much soapy water you spray on the film and the window-impossible to move or align the instant after it makes ANY contact with the window-again, no matter how soaking wet the film or the glass may be, it will stick for good.I have a great deal of home improvement and handyman experience. I believe in doing things well, and lucky to have an aptitude for it.I always read instructions, often more than once, and watched the manufacturers video twice. Looks like putting up wallpaper, no problem!? Wrong. I've done plenty of wallpaper over the decades. Never one problem.Installing this film (with adhesive, apparently water activated) is like putting up magnetized wallpaper using super glue!If the initial contact is not perfect in every way, forget about it!There is no chance of tweaking or adjusting after initial contact! The adhesive is amazing in how fast and strongly that it sticks to the window even with an awful lot of of soapy water on the glass and the film.I followed the instructions to a T! The video is very misleading.I was putting it on a 32" x 72" slider window. It should be easier on much smaller windows. But I still don't recommend this product at all.It was a great waste of time!

The most challenging part was getting us both up the ladder while holding the 90" long piece without having the film adhere to itself. Other than that, installation was a breeze.I highly recommend watching their video tutorials on Youtube. It breaks down the entire installation process in a 5 minute video as well as provides key highlights in individual mini-tutorials.My best piece of advise is to spray A LOT of water. They said it best, "There is no such thing as too much water, but there is such a thing as too little." The water makes it super easy to move around and position the film onto the window so you don't have to be an expert to do it if you use enough water. More importantly, the water helps to prevent the film from sticking onto itself. If it sticks then that piece is done for.To break down the quality of the product - it looks phenomenal. You can not notice that there is a film there. Only way our guest would know is if we told them. My wife and I can notice the difference between a window with a film and a window without. The windows with the film have a bit of a oily water sheen to it but it is only barely noticeable and only when there is something solid behind it like a tree. If looking into the sky, you can't see it.The product comes with everything you need minus the spray bottle and tape measure. It comes with a knife which was surprisingly very sharp and great quality. To put the knife and perhaps the overall quality of the product into perspective, we first threw the included knife aside and opted for one of our Olfa knives. Even if it is a little dull from cutting through foam for cosplay crafting, surely a dull Olfa knife is better than what they threw in with the film, right? Wrong. The Olfa took my wife several passes and all it did score the film. I suggested using the one provided with the film and it cut through the film like butter on the first pass. Maybe I am putting too much meaning behind their quality of the knife they provided or maybe it's the quality in the details that matter most and the manufacture of this film understood that.I didn't do a temperature test but maybe I'll update this review to reflect on if we noticed the room being cooler. Temperature isn't so important to us since our A/C unit blows absolutely freezing air directly at us.The reason we installed the UV film is because of all our artwork we have hanging on our walls. We have quite a few very expensive and meaningful pieces and we would like to see it preserved as long as possible. This would be just additional step we could take to preserving our original art pieces while improving our household. All for less than $100. Great value! Perfect for those who are now working remotely from home due to COVID-19 and noticed that there's a lot of sunlight hitting the artwork!

I purchased this film to protect my carpet from fading, which is next to a large window. I only wanted to cover the bottom two feet of the window where the sun angle directly hits the carpet. This product was extremely easy to install, providing you read and follow the instructions to a T, and as is exactly as described. It is perfectly clear, and you can barely discern where the film ends partway up the glass. It’s too early to tell whether it actually blocks the UV rays, but time will tell. I plan on putting this film in other strategic areas of my home where the direct sun rays might fade my carpet and furniture. BTW, this is a clear film, not a tinted film for privacy purposes. It also comes with installation tools as wellThis is the FIRST review update I have ever done, but this product deserves ongoing praise. To review, I put this film on the bottom 1/3 of a sliding glass door in my bedroom which was newly carpeted with a 100% wool carpet that I was afraid would fade. I installed the film right after the carpet installation in December 2018. I also have a small matching doormat over the carpet in the doorway for dirt. Here we are over 4 years later, and the film looks EXACTLY the same as the day I installed it. You’d never know it was there. It is still imperceptible unless you run your finger over the seam. Also, there is NO visible difference where the mat sits and fully protects the carpet from the sun, and the exposed carpet, which to me is the ultimate test. There is NO darker unfaded square after 4 years!I also have this film in other areas of my home, and feel 100% comfortable that my upholstery and leather chairs are being protected from the UV light. Unlike a lot of products out there that disappoint, this product delivers in every way, and deserves my ongoing praise.
