This purchase was totally for my own enjoyment, but Willie Mae likes it, too. Fat Cat are my absolute favorite cat products. They're fun and colorful, as well as durable and easy to assemble, and this board comes with a bag of catnip. And always reasonably priced. Let's be honest, cat scratch boards are not attractive. But this one is!! Once again, Fat Cat products rule in our house and guarantees a happy kitty.

I’m using these scratch pads for my kitty Jake ever since I got him five years ago. I’m having received this recently. I’m reminded of why I’ve always stood by the product as it is perfect no pun intended. The dual sided to come with catnip and a little toy stuffed with catnip and my Jake absolutely goes nuts For the scratch ability and the durability they provide get this for every cat owner. You know they will be so happy.

Saw some positive written and video reviews on this scratch box and decided to take the plunge. Overall it's a solid budget option particularly for new cat owners whom want to see their cat's preferences before making big purchases. The scratcher itself is decent, the cat I'm fostering is using it whenever it gets the urge to scratch which is more often than not. This is great as it means my furniture is saved. However the durability is so-so, I think this will depend on how often your cats get the impulse to use it as well as if you're able to clip their claws from time to time. However what helps this is the added bit of cat nip, which I've used for other purposes like attracting the cat to toys. Speaking of toys the little mouse toy that comes with this is awesome. My foster cat loves to bat it around and keep herself entertained with it. I suppose it stimulates her hunter instincts. Oh before I forget to mention the scratcher has two sides so when one is worn down you can flip it to get more use out of it.All-in-all very good buy with all included items particularly if you can get this around 10$ or less.

My cats love their scatch box. Have multiple throughout the house. It helps prevent the furniture from being a scratch post.

I read the reviews before I got this and, despite all the positives, was still a little skeptical. After all, it's basically a piece of cardboard with some catnip rubbed in, right? WRONG! I've only had this thing one day and my 5 kitties will NOT leave it alone. I've ordered 3 more of them.I'm not sure what it is about this particular toy or catnip, but my kitties have never reacted to anything like this before. I keep catnip around and, of course, the little darlings are very fond of it. I'm also fond of it because it provides me with hours of amusement watching them get silly. I also keep scratchy toys around (the old round cardboard-surrounded-by-ball thing, sisal, furniture - the usual stuff) and a basketful of every kind of cute kitty plaything you could think of, even though they tend to prefer shoestrings, my paintbrushes, socks, scraps of paper...*sigh* Anyway, my kitties are not deprived, believe me. So I was surprised at the way they pounced on this scratchy. One of them has been sleeping on it (he drools, so we're dealing with a large wet spot on the end of it at the moment) and even my sweet developmentally challenged baby has taken to digging and rolling on it (once he figured out what it was and how it was used.)Fortunately they're being well-behaved and are managing to share until the other scratchies get here. The little toy that came with it (can't wait to get more of those) has also made the rounds and has been well-rubbed and well-chewed, batted around by everybody, dropped in the water dish, etc., while their usual toys (my furniture is so grateful!) are being neglected. I'm sure this will change once one of them hides the toy in a "safe" place and then immediately forgets where it is, but for now it's certainly getting a workout. My point is: I didn't believe that my kitties would like this scratchy any more than any of the other ones. I ordered it mostly because I was looking for a new scratchy toy and I loved the name and the packaging. I was amazed at the babies' reactions to it. They rarely stay excited about anything for more than a few hours at most. As I write this, one of them is lying on it dozing, and another is nearby nosing at it and waiting for her turn. Since it came in the door, it's been constantly used. Whatever they've done to this toy and its accompanying catnip, it has an effect way beyond all the other stuff we've had. If you want a great new thing for your kitty(ies) - and enjoy watching their antics under the effect of catnip - I can heartily recommend this! I have a feeling Fat Cat Kitty Hoots is going to be a very familiar name around here from now on.Of course, it could also be that I just have very weird cats - but then, apparently so do a lot of other people (which makes me feel like I might not be such a bad kitty-mommy after all.)Edit: Two years later and we're on our third round with Kitty Hoots. The babies still love them for sleeping on, scratching on, making statements about whatever is going on in the house, using as a launch pad for sneak attacks on passersby...just about anything they do includes this scratchy. It's amazing. I even dragged out their old round scratch toy and they completely ignored it, even with the ball; they only want their Kitty Hoots. We have two new babies (sadly, we lost one just recently and, of course, the way the universe works, two others just happened to land on my doorstep the next day in desperate need of someone weird enough to add two new ones to fill up the space left by one) so they have to have their own scratchies. I can't wait to watch the magic of Kitty Hoots work on these new babies! And I can't stress enough how wonderful I think this product is. I hope Kitty Hoots is around for a very long time. :-)

is a real winner with the cats. This item is a big hit on a number of levels. The kitties love to sit on it, scratch on it, and sleep on it. It came with an extra package of cat nip and a cute fabric cat nip toy. A great plus is the fact that you can reverse the cardboard insert so it's got a built-in refill. It is wider than most cardboard scratchers, providing a great scratching or sleeping area for larger cats. It came packaged very well, with the toy and extra catnip package attached. There was NO glue left on the board where the paper face description had been attached. The only thing that I did not like and addressed right away before presenting it to my cats were the little yarn tassles attached to the corners of the box. They are designed and described as entertainment features for kitty but can be quite dangerous if torn away from the product and swallowed. Better safe than sorry and removing them does not detract from the product; it simply makes it safer!!! The product is, of course, light-weight; forceful scratching can move it around, which seemed to frustrate kitty a bit. It DOES NOT replace a good scratching post, but is a great item, nonetheless and the cats really enjoy it.
