Cool looking bow, it's my first one, and I think design of a tool is what can make you get into this kind of hobby. Comes disassembled, doesn't have any paper manual in the box, thankfully I thought to go back to the page and saw instructional video which gave me all the information to put it all together. It was a bit scary to attach the string, I put quite a force into it, maybe it would be way easier with 30lbs bow. I consider myself strong enough to handle 50 lbs bow. The build quality is great, every detail is smooth. Definitely worth a try for a price.

There are some things I like about this bow, and some other things that could be improved. Overall, the bow seems well-made, and nicely finished, and comes with all the necessary items (except targets) to get someone started in archery. At first glance, the riser initially appears to be a laminated construction, but it's actually some sort of fairly close-grained hardwood that has been sawn apart in a wavy line, and a thin dark section laminated in down its length (see pic). I got the lightest pull offered (25#) to start training a grandson. What I like (besides what's already mentioned):1) It's easy to put together. Each limb requires only one screw to attach it, and an allen wrench is provided for that.2) The accessories provided are better than basic. The arm and finger guards are thick and sturdy, and the arrows are good quality and fletched with real feathers.3) The arrowheads (field points) are removable, so blunt target tips (not included) can be substituted, if desired.4) The kit comes with a quiver that has a shoulder strap, and a belt clip, a bow "stringer" line, if you need it, and bowstring dampers.5) The grip is well-shaped and comfortable. Some things that could use improvement (in no particular order):1) The arrow shelf is arched, which is OK, but it seems to slope sideways a bit away from the riser. This makes the arrow want to slide off too easily. The kit comes with a basic stick-on felt rest, which may help, but it might take something better, and/or a little work with a file and sandpaper to make it more stable.2) The arrows are all black...can make finding a target miss harder.3) Not sure that the single screw (and a locator pin) holding each limb is adequate. I have a feeling that setup may eventually stress the single fastener to the point where it works loose.4) The draw weight seems to be a bit less than stated. As a 5'-9" adult with normal length arms, pulling an arrow to its normal draw location only gives a reading of about 21# on a good digital scale (see pics). Overdrawing (the arrows are long enough) got to about 24#, so if the user has longer arms, they may get the rated pull. Even if not, the bow is comfortable and sufficient for casual home archery and training, especially for younger people or those with less arm strength.

This acquisition is my first foray into archery, but based on many online videos about what makes a good 'Black Hunter' bow kit, THIS kit is one of the best out there. It had the right silencers, proper hide pads, one of the better stringer tools, and quality arrows. The finger and arm protection accessories are modest, but that is more about user preference anyways. My only complaint is that it had NO INSTRUCTIONS - be prepared to watch some online videos about proper assembly, such as getting the silencers installed in the string before you put it on, how to oriented the pads, how to set the distance from the bow to the string, etc. You get the idea. I think I strung the bow a dozen times before I figured everything out. They should recruit someone to provide an assembly guide video that covers all of it start to finish.I'm giving it full stars for the product, but I'd take a half-star off just because they left you in the dark if your a newbie like me.

The GLURAK Black Hunter Recurve Bow and Arrow Set has been a surprisingly positive experience, especially considering the price point. While assembly was a bit more challenging than expected despite its straightforward design, the overall quality of the bow itself shines through. As a first-time recurve bow hunter, I'm particularly impressed with the feel and potential of this bow. The 50lb draw weight feels a bit lighter than advertised, but without proper measuring tools, it's hard to be certain. The biggest hurdle for hunting use will be mounting a pin sight. The absence of pre-drilled holes necessitates a creative, non-destructive mounting solution to avoid damaging the bow's integrity. The included accessories are a mixed bag. The carbon arrows are a definite highlight, proving to be excellent for practice. The stringer is also a valuable addition, making stringing the bow significantly easier and safer. However, the remaining accessories – the arrow quiver, arm guard, and glove – are merely adequate. I’ll likely be upgrading to higher-quality versions of the glove, arm guard, and exploring different quiver styles to better suit my needs. The dampers, on the other hand, seem to be doing their job effectively and don't require immediate replacement.Pros:• Solid Bow Core: The Black Hunter recurve bow itself seems well-made and promising.• High-Quality Arrows: The included carbon arrows are great for practice and appear durable.• Essential Stringer Included: The stringer is a must-have tool and is a welcome addition to the package.• Effective Dampers: The dampers do their job well in reducing vibration and noise.• Potential for Hunting: With a bit of modification, this bow could be a viable option for hunting.Cons:• Challenging Assembly (Slightly): While straightforward, some might find the assembly slightly more difficult than expected.• No Pre-Drilled Sight Mounts: The lack of pre-drilled holes for sight mounting poses a challenge for target accuracy and hunting applications.• Medocre Accessories: The included quiver, arm guard, and glove are of fair quality and will likely need to be upgraded.• Perceived Draw Weight Discrepancy: The draw weight feels lighter than the advertised 50lbs.Overall:Despite the minor drawbacks regarding the accessories and the need for a creative sight mounting solution, the GLURAK Black Hunter Recurve Bow and Arrow Set offers excellent value for the price. The solid bow construction and quality arrows make it a worthwhile purchase, particularly for those looking to enter the world of traditional archery and hunting. While the accessories could be better, the core components are strong enough to warrant a solid 4.8-star rating – practically a 5-star in my book. I would recommend this bow to beginners and experienced archers alike, with the caveat that you may need to invest in higher-quality accessories down the line.
