I installed this on my tritoon. First off, the main pole is very thin aluminum and isn’t sturdy at all. It bends every time I try to clamp it down tight. Second, one of the attachments will not stay tight if traveling much faster than 10-15 mph. When I got up to about 20mph, it just about came off of the mount. I stopped and got everything back tight again. Once again, when I hit about 20, maybe 25 mph, it almost came off again. It does look really nice which is why I gave it 2 stars. Looks like I’ll only be able to have it up if I’m sitting still or moving slowly.

The star of this show is the flag itself. It is durable, appears well made and is attractive with vibrant coloring. It should hold up well to frequent use in windy conditions. The pole and mounting hardware are decent, but I don't think I'd go so far as to call them "heavy duty" as the description states. The problem with any clamp-mounted system with a flag is that the flag creates a ton of force when underway and you really have to clamp down hard to keep it still. This could be a problem in terms of not being able to clamp hard enough without doing damage to your boat rail or the flag pole. If possible, it would be best to buy or fashion a permanent mount for the flag, especially if you have a faster boat. On my slower pontoon boat the clamps work fine, but there is some play in the assembly when you move it by hand.At the current price of $36, I think this flag kit is a solid value, though, and would definitely recommend it. There is no reason you couldn't use this anywhere, not just on a boat. Here, the clamp system offers some flexible mounting options.

The actual flag is very high quality--heavy duty, vibrant colors, embroidered, and well made; however, the clamps and brackets were not able to securely attach it to the railing of my boat. I ended up putting the flag pole into one of my stern rod holders instead. The pole and flag connections seem good with attachments that prevent the flag from wrapping itself around the pole. I have had it on my boat for about a week and it looks good. The size is perfect for a boat like mine of about 20 feet or so.

The pole bends as you clamp it down. Female threads stripped as I tightened it up otherwise it sagged with the wind. Seems like cheap China crap but not worth the trouble to send back. Flag is nice. I can make it work with multiple modifications. So I’d say probably choose a different one. It looked nice when I got it but not good.

Good material but husband had to use some redneck ingenuity to get the flag direction upright. It needed a lock nut to hold it in position but not enough room to just do that so he re-engineered the flag holder. Stainless steel pipe & flag are well made.

I use this on my 16ft inflatable boat but I don't use the clamp it came with. Rather, I just insert it into a fishing rod holder that attaches to my rear bimini support pole. I sometimes boat where Canadian boaters might also be (I still always stay in US waters). It's considered a courtesy to law enforcement and to other boaters to display your country of origin if in waters where boats from other countries might be. It comes with a 50 star flag, but I opted to replace with an yacht ensigns flag to be more nautical. The price of 30 USD is reasonable for what you get. I would order this again.

All parts are made very well and looks very nice. The clamp will make it easy to mount on our pontoon boat.
