I've tried a lot of different marking tools for my quilting. So far this is my favorite. It marks easily without breaking the chaulk.

Over all this product does what it says it does . It has become my go-to marker for quilting, cropping photos, painting and sewing in general. It removes easily with a damp cloth or a washing. The dust is minimal but could be eliminated altogether in my opinion. The one downside is that it does break pretty often requiring a reset or sharpening . Hopefully, they will figure out how to make the sticks stronger and dustless thus the 4 rating instead of 5.

I've used a few times now for making chalkboard signs. I like these better than a chalkboard pens because the pens leave a residue behind. These actually erase all the way.

Once I read some Q&As about this, I learned how to remove the chalk sticks. I can also simply lengthen the amount of chalk sticking out and use the sharpener to create a fine point, then release the yellow clamp and let the stick go back into the holder.With the eraser end down and held on a firm surface, press downward to open the yellow clamping fingers.
