I'm happy with this shredder. I've been using it for weeks. Since nothing is really perfect, there was only one problem which got quickly resolved by Bonsaii's Customer Support (thanks).Pros:- It just works. Put paper in, it shreds it to tiny pieces (micro-cut). This gives me much more confidence that documents won't be ever readable than just the common and cheaper stripe shredders.- It shreds paper with staples, no need to remove them.- There is a separate slot for shredding credit cards and CD's.- It's very easy to operate.- The waste basket has a reasonable capacity.- Takes up to 8 sheets of paper (A4 size 75g/m2)- Customer Support is excellent.Cons(reason for 4 stars)- It takes an effort to empty the waste basket, because you have to lift the whole top shredding unit which is quite heavy. Sometimes when I lifted the top unit and removed the basket, shredded pieces of paper which stayed between the shredding blades fell down on the floor. However I knew this would be the case after reading other reviews before purchasing this item, so I'm not overly bothered with it. I still prefer this model to the ones where you pull the basked to a side.- How can you possibly know what is the weight of paper you want to shred? (75g/m2 or 80 or 90 or 100 or other?) Just to be safe, when I suspect a paper is thicker than usual, I only put 3-4 sheets max in one go. It would be great if it somehow figures out or warns or just won't accept papers where the limit would be over 8 sheets of A4 size 75g/m2. I wish there was a product where I can safely put in 8 sheets of A4 paper and it would take them if they are in the limit and it won't take them and tell me that it's too much for it to chew.- At some point the shredding blades stopped working, but a quick exchange of messages with the Customer Support has resolved this issue.

So far (a month and a half), I am very pleased with this shredder (Bonsaii C156-C). It will do 8 sheets but it sounds like it is laboring so I usually go for 5 or so sheets. It's not that I think it will break, I just don't like the sound it makes. lol It's ME not the shredder!Anyway, I have only had it shut off once and I used it continually to see how long that would take. I have accumulated a bunch of stuff to shred. It went about 5 minutes which was about the time it took to stuff the basket. On a normal day, I am quite sure it will be sufficient since I'm not usually sitting shredding but rather shredding a little here and there. Some other reviews mentioned the cd and credit card shredders. The cd slot feeds the cd pieces into a small insert so the plastic pieces are not mixed in with the paper. I guess that's important to some people. I just took the insert out to give more room for paper. It did break the cd up so it is unusable. The credit card feeds through the center of the paper slot. If you do that it does NOT just cut it into strips. I just did one because I couldn't remember and except for a small edge piece that was a strip, I couldn't find the pieces of the card among the shredded paper (just enough paper to cover the bottom of the shredder so not like a needle in a haystack).Compared to my previous shredder (which I apparently paid a whole lot more for many years ago), this one is louder. It's LOUD. It doesn't run nearly as long continuously but it seems that might be the case with all shredders now.Same issues I had with my last shredder - static electricity, visibility. Emptying the bin without getting paper shreds everywhere I don't think is a possibility. lol Telling how full the bin is can be difficult without taking the lid off. The window just doesn't do much for me.Better than my previous shredder in spite of the lower price - Design is nice but that's aesthetics. Sturdier probably because there are more blades than my diamond shredder had. Slightly larger but that's because the shape allows for more paper in the bin.I usually wait longer before writing reviews so I can't tell you how it is going to stand up over time although it seems like it will do well. The price is definitely right for what I got assuming it lasts.

In addition to some glowing reviews it was the Bonsaii video that really sold me on this product. And while I did make a few mistakes while operating this shredder (sticky address labels will gum up the shredder) my main complaint is that the shredded material does build up below the "shred-head". Running the shredder in reverse mode does very little to clear paper jams; in fact it often makes matters worse as material will then build up above the "shred-head" which is virtually impossible to clear. This build up of material then blocks the sensor which activates the shredder and you are effectively left with an inoperable micro-cut shredder. I was leery about buying a shredder with only two settings--auto and reverse--and my apprehensions proved to be right. (My old strip shredder has continuous, reverse and auto settings.) While the product has eye appeal and seems to be a quality build this one design flaw prohibits me from recommending it however it does do a good job when it functions properly.Update: After having spent more than 30 minutes trying to remove the the stuck material, using a variety of pick-type instruments, from around the shredder sensor I was successful in getting the shredder to once again function properly. The company that sold me the shredder has issued me a small refund of four dollars for my inconvenience; furthermore they have asked me to reconsider my one-star rating in light of the fact that the shredder is now functioning properly again. Considering that the shredder does do a good job in destroying sensitive material I have raised my rating to four stars

I've only had the shredder for a few days, but it seems to be very good. The shredded pieces are about the size of confetti and if you want to safely dispose of your old documents, it seems to me that this is probably the beast for you. I've shredded only one credit card and that worked great and the DVD I inserted got sliced into three pieces. My first impression is that this is a good machine which is good value for your money. There is, however, one flaw in the design of this shredder. The small bin which sits inside the large waste bin to catch sliced up DVD's and locates on plastic rails has no means of locking firmly in place, and so, when tipping out the contents of the large bin, it has a tendency to drop off and get lost! Unfortunately, mine did, and so far I'm not having any success in trying to make contact with anyone who can supply a replacement. If you can help in this regard, I'd be pleased to hear from you.My tip would be that the small DVD bin should only be installed in the main bin when you intend to destroy DVD's, and removed immediately afterwards.

Exceptionally fast delivery. Shredder received in perfect condition. Easy to set up and great working product. Shreds material into quite tiny pieces, much more secure than some of the best branded and overpriced shredders on the market. The shredder has a large capacity for waste - I used the big plastic bag it came in to line the bin section making it super easy to empty with no dust or mess whatsoever. The credit card facility cuts cards into @ four strips (depending how you insert the card) so it cannot be used and there's a separate waste bit for that, but the main shredder will obliterate cards completely! I will try to update this post in @ 6 months to give a better review of robustness but, so far, its been put through fairly heavy use and has never cut out automatically yet. If one uses wisdom it doesn't need to be pushed to the limit to trip cut outs. All round this shredder is great value for money.

Quality unit and features for the money. I chose this model for essentially two reasons:- The fact that this is a micro-cut shredder.- It appears to have generated consistently good reviews.I just thought to myself why spend about the same for an equal quality cross cut shredder when for a tad more you get micro cut shredding and the CD/DVD and credit card shredding functions too?Now that I've been using the product I'm pleased with it's overall performance. It does what it says it can do. The blades are seriously heavy duty and the business end (top) of the shredder has a solid feel and heft to it. I can run eight standard sheets of paper through it but obviously it runs much slower and is not something I'd do for any extended period of time. Four sheets at a time is fast and not likely to cause over heating during more prolonged use. It's just common sense, 5,6,7, or even 8 sheets at a time works- you just should manage how long you continuously shred at higher volumes. Some have said the unit is loud, I don't feel mine is unreasonably loud at all but to each his own. I'd buy this unit again or recommend it to anyone looking for a decent spec'd but value priced micro cut shredder.
