I think these are good microphones for the price point. The sound is clear and I didn’t notice a lot of background noise or scratchy sounds. All the pieces in this set is on the smaller side, which is nice if you don’t want anything too intrusive. Everything comes in a nice, sturdy case so I don’t have to worry about damaging anything. The USB-C charging is convenient and the charge holds a long time. Overall, I’m happy with my order as it works for all my video and calling needs.

I’ve been trying to find a wireless lapel mic with good recording quality for a YT channel. This mic was not it. I was actually impressed with the distance it would transmit just wish the sound quality was better.

This is now the 6th microphone I have tested from Boya - five of them being the wireless lavalier types like this one - and all have been winners, especially when compared to their prices. In short, Boya is a brand that's one of the best bang for your buck. The quality is not on par with the best of them, such as Shure or Rode or Sennheiser, but those are upwards of $150 for the lavalier types, while Boya is in the range of $80 - $150, with the $80 - $100 types such as this one being about 80% as good as the brand names. I have a desktop mic from Boya too, and I would say it is on par with Blue Yeti mics, while being usually a tad less expensive. So hopefully now you have a better sense of the sound quality of Boya on the spectrum of the brands I've told you. While the other lavaliers I have from Boya come with a flatter, pill box type of case, this one is vertical, and actually makes it more compact and easier to carry with you. It also makes it easier to open the case and take the content out.In this day and age of using our smartphones as video recorders, there is no need for big bulky legacy types of mics that you hotshoe onto your DSLR cameras, or the hassle of wires of legacy lavalier mics. These, you just connect the receiver to your phone, then hang the transmitter (the mic) near the sound source (your mouth), and you're good to go. We are near the Golden Age of technology, and the only things left for me to hope for in my lifetime is a video recorder in your contact lenses, flying cars/personal quad-copters, and a teleporter, and I can go away happy. Everything else, we pretty much have in a form that is at or almost at ideal form and function, and this is a perfect example of that. And for $80, this is a great deal.

I have an on-camera mic set from Boya. It is a very innovative design because it is a shotgun mic with a small lav transmitter mic attached to the back of it. It was a game changer because I could pin the small mic on my wife and then everything I said near the camera as well as everything she said at virtually any distance I could see her, and it was just as clear in the recording. So when I saw this little kit, I knew I had to try it. I really like how small everything is. And the really great feature with these is the dual channel recording. That way in the edit I can change the level of each independantly. These little mics are like a stick of gum or a chapstick. The case is convenient and I like that it is not a big bulky rectangle. It's only about the size of a kiwi. It can actually slip into a lot of spots in my bag or even my small sling. The only thing I am not crazy about is the really glossy finish of the case lid. It is already showing tiny scratches, just from taking it in and out of my bags. And you can close the lid with the windscreens attached to the lavs. I would have liked dead-cat style windscreens instead of these low-profile foam ones.As to the functionality, I have had no problem with the mics connecting to the receiver. And they do this as soon as I pull them out of the case. They each have an alligator clip to attach them. This seems strong enough but it would have been nicer to have some kind of magnet just because it's not always convenient to clip a lav to clothing because sometimes you can see it pinching or folding the fabric. The receiver plugs right into the side of my camera. This is just ok. I am a little concerned about forgetting it is in there while I put my camera back in my bag. I don't want to stress the port. I might buy a small extension so and figure out how to attach the receiver to another spot on my camera. This does not have any kind of adjustment. Just think of it as the same as your camera's mics, but closer. The sound quality is good. Not spectacular. I really don't like the way the noise canceling compresses the sound of speech, so I try to avoid using that. As to range, I really don't like getting that far away from what I am filming, but in one clip I made, my wife was somewhere probably about 100' from me with a couple walls between and the audio didn't miss a beat.

I have been slowly adding more equipment as I do more short form video. Getting a wireless mic set felt like a no brainer. I see BOYA recommended a lot on various how to and youtube tutorials so felt confident in this. I don't know enough about a/v equipment to really compare and contrast with other brands. But I like the sound quality and the mic itself is really easy to set up and use. Very happy with it overall.
