Ours broke on the top of our lamp shade and this was sturdy and worked well to fix the problem.

Though I ended up not using this, it will work great to solve the problem for which it is intended. I have an arcing lamp that has a 17" lampshade with a large hole at the top rather than the bottom of the shade- impossible to find a replacement for it. So, I bought this- if it had been a regular lamp, rather than an arching one, it would have worked. It fits on a standard lampshade with a small hole to convert it. Seemed like a nice product, but wasn't what I needed.

This is poorly manufactured: although a great idea, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The tabs (to be bent around the lampshade wires) are too small and thus don't properly secure the adapter to the shade, and the ring's threading is poorly machined, leading to a wobbly "stripped out" attachment to the UNO light socket for which it was nominally designed. As I bought my UNO socket itself from B&P Lamp, the fact that the B&P Lamp adapter doesn't securely attach to it is frankly ridiculous.I have now ruined an antique lampshade trying to use this adapter (as you have to cut off the ring to fit this adapter). I would definitely not recommend this product.

The flange that you're supposed to crimp around the spider arms didn't have enough material to wrap far enough around my lampshade's arms to hold them at all well and I ended up soldering the three connections. The instructions say it will work with spider wires up to 3mm but mine are only 1.5mm thick. The thread was too coarse for my lampholder's thread, so I ended up filing it off. My lampholder has two threaded nuts so I could trap the adapter between them.
