Though the unit looks good and works nicely, it broke the first day.It has 2 wooden screws (one to clamp it in place and the other to set the spread of the arms) that are far too fragile for their intended use. The one to set the spread of the arms broke the first day. Even knowing it looked fragile and using a delicate touch to tighten, the threads on the screw peeled off like cardboard, preventing the unit from working.I got it working with a homebrew clamp and rubber bands, but in good conscience, I cannot recommend this product as long as the screws are so fragile.

This yarn swift is sturdy! I clamped it to a table, and put a hank of yarn on it for winding. It worked perfectly right out of the box. It did not wobble at all. The clamp to hold the swift open held as expected, and it went 'round with no effort. There is a little knob at the top that you can use to spin the swift. I was standing on nylon carpet and did not get a shock from static electricity. There was no need to oil or wax any part. There is nothing bad to say. By the way, I also used this swift to re-purpose yarn unraveled from an old, unfinished project. I unraveled from the project to the swift, tied the yarn up for washing, then when clean, put the yarn on the swift to wind onto a ball winder. What a pleasure it was to have this tool!

The wooden screw at the bottom arrived snapped in half with no easy way to request a replacement. The rest of the umbrella looks beautiful and would work perfectly if I could get that one part replaced
