Setting up my 3rd mixed reef, a 30 gal AIO with this. 6 days of "cycling" per instructions and the ammonia still won't budge. No nitrite has ever registered to show any movement in the cycle. Using DI with 0 TDS and reef crystal, dry sand and dry rock as instructed. I swear by Brightwell MB7 & BioFuel but this Start bacteria is trash. I don't know if the temp got it in shipping but it simply doesn't work. Now I have a tank full of Bacteria that I'm gonna have to figure out what to do with before I add a product that works like Fritz.

Despite being a bio additive product the package was delivered using non temperature controlled service. On receipt the box was hot as coal i am not sure if the nitrifying bacteria is alive anymore or not.

I bought this kit and used it exactly as described in the directions. I normally just use cecum stability and I feed the tank to cycle. Decided to try this as I’ve heard it is really great. Follow the instructions and put everything in as it called for and it took over a month for my tank to cycle. I was really disappointed and then the end ended up doing a water change and cycling it the way I normally do. However I do like the micro factor clean

So this product works pretty much as I expected it to. Slowly. I’m in no rush. Used all non seeded rock and sand. Everything clean and let it run for a week prior to dosing ammonia and bacteria. Its working but slowly. I suspect as it is live bacteria some may have been killed during transit. Delivery from America to uk. Good price tho. Just not the 7 days advertised. But that was expected.

It’s been 19 days since i’ve started my cycle and my ammonia hit 0 in exactly 2 weeks now my nitrite is stuck at 0.5 ppm from the last 4 days. which is great I dont mind waiting my problem is the false claims this product says. It looks like it’s works but not nearly as fast as it claims :(

I have followed all the instructions but it’s now day #7 and ammonia is still 1 PPM and nitrites are still 0.It’s obvious that the tank is far from cycled, and either the claims of a 7 day cycle are false or the bacteria was killed in the transportation.Either way very disappointed.

Its a shame . I don't know really whats going on . I love the MicroBacter clean . been using 6 months now. 25 year hobbiest . I do have less alge in the tank I'm using it in . I would say it does work . my problem was everyone was sold out of the Clean . I had to buy a hold new startup box set just to get it .

Well, I'm on day 7 and nitrites are 0. Which is great. Except that my nitrates are also 0 and my ammonia is still 2PPM.Followed the directions exactly; dry rock, dead sand, no skimmers or socks - right dosage. RODI water at 0tds. I might have gotten a "bad batch" I guess but based on my experience this product doesn't work - and if it does; it doesn't work as advertised. Ill be buying a different brand of bacteria to give that a try.
