I was a pro bike mechanic for 3 years and just installed this BB and replaced a SRAM GXP on my 2012 Cervelo RS with SRAM Red crank with 68mm spacing.Pros - Silky smooth bearings, as smooth as any I have ever felt. 5 StarsCons - does _not_ fit anything but 73mm width unless you delete the dust shield. Specifically the dust shield is machined aluminum (so in that respect nicer than the plastic shield that it replaced) with o-ring seals but it is not adjustable. It has lips on both sides that stop at 73mm. I needed 68mm so I chose to delete the dust shield. Note the original SRAM GXP dust shield is plastic and its adjustable with a stop lip on one side but not the other so it can support different widths. The bike did not need a dust shield since the BB outer shell does not have any weep holes from the connected frame tubes, ie it was sealed. If your frame does have weep holes (and many do) then you will need a dust shield. 1 starWith proper tweaking, ie delete the dust shield, add a spacer to the bearing cup, add a spacer to the spindle, I got it to fit and work nicely. But if I had it to do again I would look for a 100% drop in replacement for the SRAM GXP with ceramic bearings.

I purchased this BB to complete my upgrade from square taper/steel bearing Dura Ace bb and crankset to a SRAM GXP crankset. The COONIUM ceramic bb cost me a fraction of what I paid for my Dura Ace bb so I was skeptical at first. The first improvement I noticed was how much easier installation was due to the sealed cartridge bearings in the COONIUM opposed to the loose bearings in my old bb that were a headache to deal with if any bearings accidentally fell out of the housing. I have since been riding with this new bb daily on my fixed gear bike and my cranks spin smoother than hot butter. I did have to take it all apart one time to make a slight adjustment but the included spacers made for a quick fix. The COONIUM ceramic bottom bracket has been the most budget friendly, significant upgrade in terms of ride quality I have done to my bike and I would recommend it to anyone looking to replace a worn bottom bracket assuming crankset compatibility.

Doesn't work on a Specialized S Works Tarmac E5, with Shimano Dura Ace group set. The threads are too long.Customer service is very good at responding.
