Great for mixing concrete. I was using a garden hoe till it broke then a garden rake and transfer shovel until this arrived. The smaller head made mixing much easier as I wasn't pushing and pulling as much material at once. Definitely worth it if you're going to be mixing by hand.

Mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow with a shovel is an ergonomic disaster - all that lifting and turning at awkward angles. This mason hoe just worked slick. Empty a couple of bags of concrete mix in the wheelbarrow, add some water and then mix it with straight pushing and pulling, In a couple of minutes you are done. This tool was a rousing success and cost very little for the reduction in work time and effort it allowed..

It's a hoe. What else do you need to know? Sturdy build. I felt the pole was a little too short for me, but I am taller. Also it appears that the end of the hoe was slightly bent in when I got it. Not sure if this is by design or not, it did make scooping easier. Forget trying to bend it back, the steel is pretty unmalleable -- I'd have to do it with high heat. Nonetheless I use it mostly for mixed sand mix cement for shower sub flooring...worked like a champ.

It's a great product. Very sturdy, quality steel. Hard to find companies that make their products in the U.S. for a fair price. I have no idea what this one star review is talking about, doesn't seem legitimate.
