Carry everything you need for a day trip in this handy knapsack. This compact and feature-rich backpack is sized to work well for adults as well as children. Just adjust the lengths of the shoulder straps (as directed in the pattern) to make it perfect for everyone, from 4-year-olds to 90-year-olds. You'll love the way the zippers extend all the way to the bottom of the main and front compartments for full access to each section. The compartments open wide, making it easy to pack and find items. No more digging around inside a pack! The bag also features lots of zippered and slip pockets to keep small items organized and separated. Cell phone users will love the optional hidden pocket, which is perfectfor keeping a phone available for quick access, yet out of sight.

Very disappointed! Ordered a 'pattern' that I believed to be a 'proper paper pattern' but it is only instructions with a miniature diagram. I could have downloaded exactly what I received directly from the internet for £0.00 Caveat Emptor!!!!!!

This isn't a pattern. It is basic instructions on how to create a backpack. You have to create your own pattern.

I like the look of the bag. You will be quilting all of your material. You might find it faster to buy some already quilted material. I have been at it part time for weeks now and am not done. The big bag will be much smaller than I imagined. It is an expensive bag to make.

The photo is of the first one I made. Annie specializes in the use of quilted fabric. I quilted the fabric on this one myself in order to save some money. This bag was adapted a bit (I added 4" in length for more room), and that was challenging, but otherwise I was able to construct it thanks to the assistance of the multiple sewing tutorial videos at her website. If you buy the pattern, you get a coupon to pay for the videos.I don't want to discourage you from making this bag, but it isn't a easy make. There are some thick layers (my 45 year old Bernina 830 handled them just fine), and a lot of binding, but the result is a comfortable, attractive bag that could double as your carryon in an airplane.I've been sewing off an on for the better part of 60 years, but I'd never made a bag before last spring. I wouldn't recommend this one as your first bag, but it is certainly a satisfying result when it is done.
