Honestly when I ordered it I did not expect I'm gonna use it for heavy lights, I ordered it to use for hair lights but seeing how sturdy it is, I'm definitely going to use it for my main light along with a beauty dish or a parabolic umbrella, this is as sturdy as regular expensive C stands, I don't know how they can afford selling it for this price but they do. I couldn't upload video for some reason

I've got a few pro-grade C-Stands, and they are beefier than this one. But this is pretty good for the price and pretty sturdy compared to most consumer stands. The biggest difference from my pro stands is the way the riser attaches to the turtle base. On my pro stands it's an industry standard standard "Junior" socket, which lets you use the base as a low light stand with the addition of a Jr. to baby adapter. This C-Stand uses a threaded connector instead. It's less secure and it is right were the riser gets the most stress. I think it is sufficient for light duty use, but more prone to damage and failure. And when disassembled, the riser threads are exposed. The threads could get damaged in a way that a Junior stud just can't.I like the extra long gobo arm, and the departure from having the arm permanently attached to a gobo head gives some extra flexability and the option of adding a small counter weight for short booming that is less tippy. Some cautions. As with all full sized C-Stands, the riser goes up way higher than it has any right to compared to the width of the base. They are very tippy, and not really meant to be light stands, all though they often get used that way (they are for holding light modifiers rather than lights). They absolutely need a sandbag on the long leg. This comes with a fill it yourself sand bag - use it, or use a better heavier one. And be cautious outdoors where there is a breeze.C-Stands are pretty versatile, so I'll find a use for this medium duty C-stand. Overall I'm happy with the value of it. But if the price goes up I'd get a different sturdier brand.

C-stands usually run for about $100+ and some don't even come with the boom arm which this includes. While it's not as premium as the more expensive C-Stands, it's still pretty good overall and a pretty good value for those looking to get a sturdy stand while not spending $100+It arrives with everything inside a carrying case which I thought was nice. It comes with instructions although even if you've never set up a C-stand before, it's pretty easy to figure out and get set up. Disassembling it and putting it back in the bag is also fairly easy as well.I tested it out with a 200W Monolight and had no issues with it as expected as most C-stands are much more stable than your typical cheap light stands. That said, I would still be careful with extending this to its highest point as you're going to run into trouble no matter what stand you have. The boom arm also worked as expected and had no issues with it.The included sand bags are also a nice addition as you will definitely need some sort of sandbag (this or another brand) if you intend to use your stand outdoors or if you're using the boom arm with something heavy on it. Note that the sand bags arrive empty and you'll need to find a way to fill them up yourself.Overall, you're getting a lot for $80 (as of this review) and it's a great C-stand. If you're a professional with really expensive and heavy gear, I'd probably recommend a more premium C-stand but then again, you probably weren't considering a $80 C-stand to begin with. For others like myself that have lighter gear, this is great value and a C-stand that I would recommend you consider.
