This is a very well cable and wire gripper/puller I am using this to tighten some barbed wire fencing with a cable come along. It grips well without slipping and is easy to release. Well built, I would buy another if I could ever wear this one out.

This is great for pulling wire like barbed wire or wire for railings. This is not for pulling electrical wire. The grips the wire tightly and as pulling pressure is applied it grips stronger. This is great for using with a come-along, a winch or behind a vehicle to pull your wire tight. The process is pretty simple. You slip the wire between the jaws, connect the mode of pulling to the hole in the handle and pull tightly. Once you have it as tight as you need it, you can tie off the excess and release the gripper. Pretty simple but it saves a lot of headache. This could even be used to pull heavy objects connected by stranded wire. I believe it is a good value and time saver.

I am so glad I found this cable puller.I bought 1000 feet of high strength stainless steel cable with all of the associated hardware. Cutter, crimper, crimps, you name it.But I had no idea how I was going to pull the cable tight when I installed it. This solves that problem. This clamps the cable without deforming/damaging it and allows me to pull it very tight with the small winch I have.This might also work great on the barbed wire that I have. I'm going to use this for that purpose too. We'll see how that works.So far very happy.

I've had a few of these- and if you have some climbing experience, you'll recognize the mechanisms of these as being basically like an ascender. The cam is serrated, but not sharply so it likely won't ruin non-steel ropes if you use this for something other than steel cable. I have not pulled steel with it yet, so I hope it has enough grip- but on a polymer rope we used for rigging a tree we were taking down it worked perfectly. The quality is good, but it's not a top-end version and that's reflected in the low price. It looks every bit as durable as one would likely need, but not a "commercial" grade which would be more appropriate for frequent heavy use, but at a much greater price. My only question for now is if the modest serration will hold steel cables which are made with smaller diameter winds. Three stars is a "satisfied" review, no complaints and a reasonable deal. Four and higher are for exceptional value and quality. This is a good product for the price and I recommend it.
