I purchased this because I had one like this years ago and it was the best one I had but I guess this one is a slight knock off because it doesn't cut the strands as well and they keep wrapping around the copper no matter how I adjust it

Easy to use and set stays set well (could be better on that) overall a great investment and a great unit. Fast and easy vs most strippers or cutters.

Had to adjust the blades a lot to get it to work right. But, once I did, it works fine

This tool works excellent ! My "only" complaint on it, is that the blade that cuts the jaacket to expose the "braid" should have been moved to the next "outer" slot allowing more braid to be exposed. Yes, i know it can be taken "apart".... but i shouldn't have to do that out of the package. Hence the loss of 1 star.

While some may dislike this basic coax cable stripper, I use it for different kind of network cables and it works flawlessly once properly set. I actually have several ones, each identified and ajusted to a specific cable model. I have also use it with some coax cable with great success. Just take a few minutes to properly adjust it.

If you have a lot of coax to replace and you want to strip the wires yourself, these are similar to what the pros use. Simple to operate, and quick to use. If you’re working on your own upgrades and tired of manually stripping coax this will do the job.

This item was advertised as being for RG58 cable. But the label in the box says it is Item Number 490148 for RG59/6 cable. My RG58 UHF connectors require 8 mm between the jacket cut and shield cut, and this dimension is set to 4 mm. It makes two cuts, not the three required. It takes a few inches of practice cable to get the cut depth adjusted for the cable you are using. The adjustment is made with the Allen wrench (yes, it was included with mine). And no, there are no directions. On the positive side, it seems to accommodate different cable diameters buy removing and rotating the orange cable clamp. If you need 4 mm you can make two cuts. I am keeping the tool because I can lower one blade and set the other to make the difficult shield cut. The other two cuts can be made with a knife.

I waited too long to return this item. However, I have watched this item being used as part of a kit on YouTube. Looked easy enough. I tried numerous times and even after making adjustments, the rear cutter could not be adjusted to cut only the sheathing. No matter how I adjust it it goes through the copper shielding or if backed out a bit mangles the shielding.BTW, the stripper comes with no instructions on adjustments. Looks like a no-brainer.. but... maybe I don't have brains any longer. Price seemed good.. but if it doesn't work for me.. a good price makes little or no difference.Going back to an Xacto knife.I'd be willing to re-look at this review if the seller contacts me and helps with a new one.

Made well and works great and would buy again. NOTE however the device comes with no intructions at all! Granted this is far from complicated equipment and if you've used one before you don't need a refresher. On the other hand, its use is not straight forward so you can easily figure it out buy using it and odds are you won't use it correctly unless you have some simple instructions. I went on line and searched till I got some simple instructions and as I suspected I was using it all wrong and I've worked with coax cable a lot but you can't know something you don't know and using it correctly makes all the difference. Surprising it doesn't come with a small paper or some wrting on the package with a few simple but very important instructions!

Works great. I didn't actually buy this for coax cable, although I may use it for that someday. I bought it because I needed a lot of pigtails for light fixtures (like 64 of them) and the best way to make them was to buy short round extension cords and cut the sockets off. This meant having to strip the jacket off the cords. After experimenting with the first one, I thought it would be much easier with a rotary stripper of some kind. My Cat6 stripper was too small so I bought this coax one because of the adjustable blades and the 4 sizes of cable it could strip. I set the orange block for RG6 size cable, lowered the outer sheathe blade all the way down and adjusted the deep cutting blade to cut most of the way through the extension cord jacket. Works wonderfully and makes stripping the other 63 cords a breeze. I can also see how this would work great for coax and am very pleased with my purchase, especially for the price.
