I didn't buy this for water heater overflow. I bought it for under a bird feeder hanging over my deck. Birds drop seeds and make a mess. I tried sledding disks but they are too small and brightly colored. I was looking for a child's pool to buy but they were too big and also bright colors. Browsing sites, I found water heater & washing machine overflow pans! This round one is 29" across and the rim is high enough to stop seeds from bouncing past the edge. It's black, looks great and keeps 98% of the mess off my deck! The price was great too.

I recently purchased a hydronic vertical growing system. The unit lives in my kitchen on a hardwood floor and as I did not want any water spillage from the garden getting on the floor, I purchased the heater pan to contain it.I am pleased with the pan as it does the job.

I actually ordered these as feeders for my deer. She has twins! We first were feeding squirrels in small bowls when we noticed the deer. We had 4 last year and just the one with twins this year. It’s been a rainy season so I ordered the heater pans because they are waterproof and have a hole in the side. I set them on a slant and if it starts raining the water rolls out. I bought one for dry food and one for fruit and vegetables. They work perfectly. We are able to watch all the animals eat and the next morning I just spray them out with the hose.

When this arrived I told the UPS man I didn't order anything this large, I mean huge. Oops! Looks like I did and didn't notice. This is enormous, a full 29 x 29 x 3 inches, which is only displayed. I read the description which said two inches high and that sounded like it might work for me. One will work well in my dining area to contain leaks from my portable A/C unit, but there's no way this will work in my bedroom for the other portable A/C unit. This is larger than the opening to my closet. My bedroom is tiny. Fitting in the portable A/C unit was already going to take a lot of rearranging and space.The size of this was beyond surprising and is only displayed in the Product information / Technical Details. Wasn't ready for this at all. After I try this I'll update my review accordingly.

I was unable to lift my water heater into the pan so I tipped and rolled the heater until I got it in. The pan withstood this abuse very well.

This is a good quality drip pan at an excellent price. Note that since it is plastic it is only approved for electric water tanks.

I am using this under my Christmas tree this year to prevent water spillage from the live Christmas tree stand. It is well made and perfect for my intended use.

Actually bought this as a catch pan for a home made portable parrot stand. It works great.Took the base from a broken task chair apart, drilled a hole at center of the pan to fit over the up-tube that used to house the gas lift, then stuck a good sized tree branch assembly into the up-tube. We now have a portable stand for our cockatoo that catches almost all of his mess, and he loves the perch!
