I received the item when promised and it was well packaged. I unfortunately could not use the item for my water heater installation due to a room issue. They were extremely good at allowing me to return the item and promptly refunded my money. Will be using them the next time I can use one of their products. Highly recommended.

This is a very good drain pan. I installed it below an EcoSmart 18 tankless water heater to "catch" any leaks from the flush connections and the scale filter (no bypass, so will likely leak a bit when the cartridge is changed. The only thing I don't like is the actual drain hole & connector. I'd much prefer that it was a 2" opening, so I could use a nice, flush drain with a right-angle ribbed connector for a drain hose, like this Ambassador unit:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GD8RY7K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_detailsMaybe offer a different version with the 2" drain, or even more drain options, depending on what the customer wants/needs. In other words, the drain pan itself is really good...the actual drain could be better, more flexible, able to support other drain options/connections.

These are very light weight and easy to work with. It’s a redundant precautionary step that is worth every penny. Just imagine if there was a leak and you didn’t have it compared to if you did have it. For the amount of money and time that it takes to install compared to how much it saves you if there is an incident is it no-brainer.

I bought this for a tankless water heater we just had installed in our attic. We replaced two 50 gal tank water heaters with one tankless water heater. The old drip pans for the tank heaters were not compatible with the new tankless water heater. I bought this drip pan as the replacement for those old pans to be sure we catch the water if/when the new tankless fails, and that will happen one day -- hopefully far in the future. I'm very happy I did. It fits perfectly under the new 11 gal/minute tankless. The deep basin beveled to the center funnels water right to the drain pipe and potentially holds more water than alternative drip pans I looked at, yet it has room to work with the piping coming out the bottom of the heater. It is sturdy and easily attached to the backboard we put on the wall to hold the tankless heater. We used 5 roofing screws like this: https://smile.amazon.com/U-Turn-Tapping-Screws-Rubber-Washer/dp/B07RJ2LVM8/ref=sr_1_4?crid=22GG3UDX2GVV5&dchild=1&keywords=metal+roofing+screws+3%2F4+inch&qid=1626384456&sprefix=Metal+roofing+screws+3%2F4%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-4 to fasten it to the backboard. The instructions tell you to place them in the top 4" of the back of the drip pan.As a note, there is a lot of discussion in the reviews about not all the water draining due to the pipe lip that sticks through the opening at the bottom. Just let me say, it is not needed for the drain lip to be flush. The purpose of the drip pan is for when you have a catastrophic failure in the system. There will be plenty of water flushing out when there is a catastrophic failure. This drip pan will catch and contain the water flowing through, which is the important thing. When you turn off the water to your tankless heater after the failure happens, almost all of the water will drain out, like it is designed to do. You wont care about the little bit left in the bottom. You will have bigger issues on your mind. As someone who just went through that with 2 x 50 Gal water heaters that failed at the same time, I know. Those drip pans drained out the side, and had plenty of water standing in them when I got the water off. They still did their job perfectly.

I'd say this drain pan is perfect for my small Bosch on-demand heater. But the drain that came with it is no good to me so I sourced this 1-1/4 sink drain - and after working with it in such a way that the soft aluminum opening of the pan would form to the tapered shape of the drain to make a snug fit. This allows me to install with plumbers putty so no water will stand in the pan. Further I purchased a 1-1/4 slip on coupling to go to 1-1/2 ABS elbows, a straight with an end piece that allows for a 5/8 hose connected that I ran into my floor drain where my hot water tank used to be. The ABS fittings in the attached picture are loosely connected and not my final install. Not cheap for two pieces of shaped aluminum - I give it five stars minus one for the useless drain fitting!Hope this helps others.

Nice, large pan with room for very large on-demand water heaters. Solid construction, will NOT leak, and provides safety and peace of mind when mounted under the water heater. Drain needs to be routed to outside the perimeter of the home so that the condensate can properly drain.

They make one plastic and one metal. Plastic is good but metal is great. I've installed both but picked metal for my house. Have two one on my tankless water heater, one on hvac whole house steam humidifier.
