There is nothing to heat the wax and no directions on how to. There is only a metal kettle. I had to google how to safely melt the wax in a double boiler. Everything else was of good quality and there is a nice variety of scents and colors.

I bought this kit as a fun thing to do with my nieces, however it kind of fell flat. Some of the instructions were not very clear and didn’t look the same as what we received. (e.g. picture shows seven oils, only received six) That wasn’t a huge deal, the bigger disappointment was that the wax would not melt! It took forever to get it hot enough. We had to set up a double broiler on the stove for the wax to even begin getting warm. Although it was a fun idea and we did eventually get to make candles, it just seemed more trouble than it was worth.

I don’t know nor care about how they end up burning but this is a great craft/gift. I did them for my 3 year olds Mother’s Day gifts to family. He loved making them, lots of learning opportunities and they look beautiful

Complete with everything except my own controversy of how hot to heat the wax and what temp to add the scent…but a very complete box and wonderful gift, otherwise. I am excited to make them ❤️

This kit was better than expected! It came beautifully packaged. It had more than enough was to make all the included vessels for candles and more. Quality was top tier in comparison to other arts and craft kits I’ve done with my kiddos. Instructions were easy to follow. Came with all the things needed to complete the project. Highly recommend! Wallet for what you get to what you pay here is well worth it.

So cute and great kit with everything you need!!! Has all the tools to make your own candles.The only criticism I would give, but I don’t believe it’s worth removing a star for it is the lack of detailed instructions.It doesn’t say how much wax to use (there are 4 bags and 6 small containers), but I read online that you pretty much measure how much dry wax you can fill in your container, times 2, ok that was fixable.It also doesn’t say how much dye or essential oils to use (it says something like “enough” or “the right amount”... ok what’s the right amount?). It’s great to leave room for creativity, but as it’s a kit for beginners, maybe have a “range” like between 6 drops and 12 drops or something like that.No instructions for the use the thermometer. I guessed I’d leave it inside the wax until it stagnates more or less.And lastly the broiler (once again no instructions), is great if used alone on the stove (do not hold it without gloves, handle gets hot, or wait till it cools down), but not great if used as a DOUBLE broiler (with another pot filled with water underneath), because it will tilt to the side and keep moving and still gets hot, just not very practical. I tried it alone, worked great.The little stickers for the wick don’t always work, I found using wax is better: Dip the bottom of the wick in the melted wax, then stick it to the bottom of your container, wait a while (maybe a good 15min), then you can poor the rest of the wax (you have to wait till it cools down anyway so it times out perfectly).

I purchased this as an activity for my daughter's 12th birthday party. The packaging is beautiful and it could definitely be used as a gift. The outer box is nicely decorated with string carrying handle. Inside the kit is literally everything you need to make the candles. This includes 6 candle tins (each tin is decorated differently with a sort of flow/plant theme). The melting pot you need to use is also included (very grateful for this). The dye blocks for coloring the candles, 4 bags of bee's wax, 2 wick stabilizers, droppers, cotton wicks, fragrances are in the box. Even the stirring spoon and thermometer are inside the box. Literally - everything you need for this project is in the box.The directions are easy to follow and show you exactly how to do each step.Of course, if you want different color and different scented candles, you will need to follow the process for each new candle you are making. There was enough wax to complete all six candles (these are 4 ounce candle tins).I did the melting and pouring for the girls at the party (ranging in age from 12 - 14).I would purchase again.If I could suggest any improvement, it would be to have at least one more 'neutral' tin in case someone wasn't into flowers (all the pots were stereotypically feminine). Also, the picture on the cover of the instruction manual is in a glass jar, not the actual tins in the kit. The pictures inside the manual are using one of the actual tins in the kit.
