They are pretty hard. Not soft enough to really play with, she just bats them around. Wish they were more squishy. But good quality!!!

My cat (roughly 1yr) loves the rattle these balls make, and she loves chasing them down the hallway if I'll be so kind as to throw them for her. She also plays with them on her own, batting them around until she gets tired.
