I don't know how this works for a sliding car door application, but it worked perfectly for a garage door LED light system. I needed a spring loaded contact switch to activate power to my LED lights when the garage door opened and this fit the bill. Super easy to install. Soldered wires to it and now I have garage door lights at night where my overhead shop lights can't hit. No more dark half of the garage!

the product is being used in a DIY project to turn on a light once a door is opened. It is working great so far and was easy to mount.

Nice product, ordered a second one after installing the first one. Used in our Class A motorhome to replace the door switch on the entry door, which controls the key pad lock. Perfect fit, exact match.
