I have used different cheese slicers over the years and this is by far the best. I am able to cut slices 1/8 of an inch thick but, since the block of cheese flattens a bit when slicing, so it is not exact but close enough. I can also make thicker slices when I want them. The only drawback is I was given cheese block that was a bigger block then usual and it was too high to cut.The other cheese slicers I had would not have been able to slice it either.

It sliced the cheese with easy. Blade feels sharp so be careful. Sturdy and put together well. I would recommend this cheese slicer. Much better than any with the wire!

This is a nice addition to the kitchen and provides precision cutting for cheese or vegetables. The stainless steel provides a good clean working surface and has measurements. For the price it is hard to beat and I completely recommend it.

I was looking forward to having this unit because it does not require messing with wires. The unit is sturdy and easy to use, but the blade is not sharp and it butchered my cheese (see photo), producing small strands of cheese scraps. I'm returning it and will order one with a wire (instead of blade) so that I can perhaps have something presentable for guests. Quite disappointing!

This slicer has a slightly curved blade cutter and not just a thin wire for doing the slicing. The blade follows through the deck into the recessed cavity so whatever you slice is cut through completely. It is made for cheese and other semi hard vegetables. While you can cut round style meats like salami make sure the product is not too big around. I found the thicker the meat product the more the slices were uneven and you had to apply more pressure to the blade. The blade is sharp, but not butcher knife sharp. Keep to cheeses and semi hard vegetables and you should not have any issues slicing. The deck has measurements so you can get an approximation of the size you want to slice. Do not use for softer items. I tried on a bagel and it was a very sad result. Remember that the blade just goes up and down and not back and forth. Would I buy this again? Yes.

This is a well made quality cheese slicer. The blade is nice and sturdy. It does a great job cutting cheese evenly, something that can be tricky with a regular knife.

Arrived quickly and packaged well! Looks to be a quality slicer! The blade seems to cut the cheese better than the wire cutters! Need to try it on vegetables!
