Put two coats of spar varnish on it at arrival. Sat outside in Alabama for 9 month, never had more than 250 pounds on it. Sat on it one day and the laminations where the front support bolt passes through the frame pulled apart. The inside of the arm, where the lamination are glued together were black and weak. Suggest you spend some more money and get a quality product.

One of our Best purchases yet. Yes can it use a little more stain yes but overall it is solid and comfortable.BD present for my wife and she LOVES it! We even added the SS Firepit to go with it.

Great swing. I am a 62 year old woman, but fairly handy. I was able to put it together without help. For those wondering about weight maximum... It does say 500 lbs. I believe that because it is quite sturdy. One review said it broke with their children on it... I have to question if it was put together properly, or, were the kids standing and jumping on it??? That said, the 4 wars would be five if the wood were finished better. It is stained, but no polyurethane or other protection. I painted mine, so it was not an issue for me, but if I had not planned to finish the wood, that would have been a disappointment.

I have had the bench less then 7 months and the wood split cause kids to fall. It broke right in half.
