I thought I was purchasing 100% plain cotton thread not mercerized. You left that out of the description, while I'm sure it's good thread it's definitely not what I expected.

I almost never leave a negative feedback, but I'm thoroughly irritated that this almost $6 spool of thread has something sticky spilled on it and looks unusable. I'm not sure I want this stuff going through my sewing machine and I definitely do not want to hand stitch with this stuff!! The spool itself looks old, as though from the early 90's and it was shipped in an old bubble wrap pack that has obviously been used over and over again :/ I understand that this was right at $6 but geez, I want what I pay for, is that too much to ask!?
