Not too bad. 1 brick of this bedding filled 90% of a 120gal tank.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I decided to switch over to the coconut husk this tank change. After about a week in the tank, I started to notice something on the chips. Now it seems like the entire bedding is covered in mold. I have had my ball python for eight years and this has never happened. Also, he must not like the way it feels because he stays on his logs and refuses to go to the bottom of the tank. He also had a piece of the husk stuck in his face that we had to pluck out. Definitely will not be using coconut husk again. Hoping he doesn’t get an upper respiratory infection as they are deadly to snakes.

Little bigger than I thought the chips would be but it works for all my plants; orchids love it, I have a begonia maculata in it, a diffenbachia, etc. Love this stuff

After getting mites from a lesser quality brand I was very happy to see better quality bigger chunks. First time buyer buy definitely not the last time I’ll be buying this product. Check out my photos you can see the difference between lower quality and this product. Great product and a must buy!

This stuff was new to me. When it arrived, I wasn't sure what do with it. I suggest looking it up on YouTube, but the gist of it is that you have to soak it in water for awhile. Now, I didn't want to use the entire package, so I broke off about one-third of this package, and soaked it for awhile. I would say it nearly quadruples in volume as you soak it.I got this for a ball python enclosure, 40 gallon. I should be able to get 3 full changes from this one bag of chips, so it's a great value (so much cheaper than aspen!) I also like the darker color of this more. The coconut bark chips hold moisture well, so, for tropical reptiles I think this is the way to go. Also, since I've used it, I have not noticed any mold or mildew or any other issues. I definitely think this is the way to go for tropical animals in terms of ease, cost, maintenance, and humidity control. I think I can probably get a year's worth or more out of just this one bag, which is a huge savings from most other substrates.

Needed a substitute for reptichip and after a lot of reading of reviews etc I opted to give this product a try.The chips are large, which made this product not the ideal choice for hatchling tubs. There is a fair amount of dust, but no more than other coco-husk products. However the main downside was the amount of tannin that leaches out when these chips get into the water bowel (which was constant with my hatchlings). You have to clean and replace the water two or three times a day as it only takes one chip to spoil the water. After a couple of weeks I reverted back to a hemp based product until Urban Constrictors get more stocks of Reptichip.

Got this as substrate for our python. Mixed with eco earth. Excellent value for money. We layered this to 2inches in a 6ftx2ft vivarium and we have enough to completely change the substrate again. Our daughter was too excited to set up the home for her snake that she didn’t read the instructions 🙄 so she didn’t know it would have saved her ALOT of effort if she soaked it in water first. Trying to break this up dry is not fun!

Price point is enticing. However, it started moulding after 3 days. Best to buy a better brand. The seller reached out to me and made it right!! I gave it a second chance and it’s much better this time! The key is don’t put a super thick layer, and make sure you have adequate heat.
