I have had other gas/carbon monoxide detectors and at best they beep, maybe have a light and a number display. This detector has the most premium display I have personally found. I like that it not only shows the parts per million (PPM) of the gas, but it also shows the temperature and relative humidity (RH). It also has a vibrant red light around the border that flashes when there are too many gas particles detected. But this isn't strictly a visual device, it also has an audible alarm that sounds like a siren and a voice that tells you to move out of the area and open a window. Pretty neat! I like that it has a test button on top so you can confirm the sound of the alarm. I tested the detector and it worked for me. The only downside I can think of is compared to the piercing alarm sounds of most smoke or CO detectors, this one seems quieter to me. If you are placing this far away from your living area, it may be harder to hear. I'm not saying its quiet, however when I tested it my ears weren't screaming in pain like they are when testing our smoke detector.

This review is for the following product:Combination Gas & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Plug in Natural Gas Detector,Propane,Methane,Carbon Monoxide Alarm for Home,Apartment,RV,4-in-1 Color Display Level: PPM,%LEL,°F and RH%This is a 2-in-1 detector that can aleart about both CO and combustible gas, such as natural gas or propane.I tested it by bringing within about a foot from an exhaust pipe of a internal combustion engine that is known to produce good amounts of CO. This detector started alerting within couple of seconds. Then I tested how well it's able to detect combustible gas by releasing small amounts of propane nearby. It proved to be very sensitive and started alerting virtually instantly. However, this device is not without drawbacks. I don't like that it doesn't have any battery backup, and relies solely on utility power, because if power goes out, you won't be protected. If you already have an uninterruptible source of power or if this is not really a concern for you, this is a product for you. However, if you're looking for something that will provide continuous protection even if the external power is cut off, then I suggest looking for a different product.

I already have CO and gas monitoring in my house, but I wanted a device for the hallway right outside our bedrooms, and this one perfectly fit the bill. I plugged it in and it read the correct temperature, humidity and CO levels (as matched by my other devices). I don't have a test CO canister to verify it's CO level detection, but I did spray a bit of butane around the unit, and it faithfully alerted me that gas was detected. Very nice! The unit is thin against the wall, and looks just like the picture, it's display is colorful and easy to read. It's not the loudest device, I'm not sure it would wake me out of a deep sleep, but it is loud enough to make itself known.

I have only ever had smoke, fire and Carbon Monoxide Detectors and did not realize they had one that also detected natural gas, propane and methane. So when I seen this one from Awatin I knew I had to give it a try, it is a nice looking unit too, one that will spark conversation. It essentially has four functions in one small compact device. It has four sensors, electrochemical from CO, catalytic combustion for combustible gas, plus it monitors both temperature and humidity. The display shows PPM, %LEL, Fahrenheit and RH% with four flashing lights for early warnings. All you do is plug it in, would be great for homes, apartments, motor homes, campers or as a gift.

The unit is attractive and compact. The display is easy to read. I was obviously not going to deliberately cause a leak to test for CO2 or gas alarm, so just hoping that the detection works as it should. I plugged it in next to our gas cooktop. The only issue I have with it is the alert volume. It's not very loud - think of a sound that a toy car makes. I would be able to hear it when I am on the same floor, but not sure whether it would wake me up in the middle of the night a floor above.
