I have been very careful when parking on side street due to fear of curb rash, so I purchase this rim protector for my Model Y 21 inch rims in the hope that if I ever do scrap my wheels on curb while parking, this will protect them. Unfortunately, I scraped my front wheels while parking today, and I thought that my rim would be fine as I thought these will protect it, but when I got out to check, I was so disappointed to find that these provide no protection at all. I was being careful and slow, but couldn’t avoid contact with the curb. I hoped that the rim protector would have saved my rim from curb rash, but in vain. DO NOT buy this for protection as this doesn’t provide any protection. They do look good and the color matches with the Tesla Uberturbine rims.
