The Blade - a universal Macbook lock that allows you to secure any Macbook with an ultra-strong retractable locking slot.
With a motto of “No Slot – No Sweat” the adhesive bracket attaches to any device with 7 inches of flat surface area and incorporates a standard cable lock slot to the tip of the retractable blade.The Blade’s minimalist style essentially hides it from plain site and is designed to complement the device in use. Great product. The stick of the piece that goes onto a laptop has not come off my mac air in 4 years. I especially like it, because it also elevates my laptop to a more comfortable position. Great for anyone who needs to keep their laptop secure to a location.

When I bought this I wasn't sure how I would like the fact that it adds a rise to my Macbook Pro, but to be honest I actually like having it on the bottom. It allows more airflow for cooling, and I hardly notice the tilt (or might even prefer it).Also, the lock is pretty good and will stop most "dash and grab" sort of thefts, especially while traveling. Definitely recommended.

Buyer beware. Do not, repeat, do not affix the "blade" to the bottom of your laptop until you have succeeded in changing the combination lock. And it is almost impossible to do this. I have changed combos on any number of similar locks, Kensington (a snap) and many others. But the makers have created a near-impossibility to keep a sharp edged instrument in the "button" while changing the combo from OOOO to another one. Once you've screwed it up, there's no going back. And the "button" you need to push has so much spring strength to it that you are struggling to keep it in while attempting to change the digits. I have a "normal sized" fingers but I kept turning the digits to the right and to the left while attempting the change. Trying to do this while keeping pressure against the "super-strength" button was, for me, damned near impossible. And don't expect any quick help from MacLocks; all they do is take your number and tell you the techie will call you back the next day. Yeah, sure. I searched in vain on youtube and on the MacLocks site for further visual instruction on how to do this. Nothing. I'm very, very dissatisfied with the enclosed instructions and the unresponsive support. Stay away from this item.

The adhesive is amazing - it is well attached immediately. Be sure you have it lined up before making contact! The lock cable is quite hard to read and requires nylon washers to make a tight fit (which will certainly get lost). I bought several of these and "bricked" one resetting the combination due to the difficulty of holding in the reset pin, holding the lock, and rotating the dials - somehow the reset pin did not release properly until I scrambled the combo...only 9999 more combinations to try. Overall I am quite satisfied that this device will prevent the "spontaneous" thief from taking our Macs but nothing will stop someone with determination.

This is a great solution for a college student with a Macbook Air. Installation is simple - use the supplied alcohol wipe to clean the area, remove the backing, and after having aligned the unit push it down firmly. That's it - blade that the lock goes in to swivels out when needed.

This device needs a flat surface to stick to, and that isn't found on the bottom of a new MacBook Air 13" (2015) until nearly in the middle of the bottom of the laptop, which turns the laptop into an expensive see-saw, very wobbly for typing. It may be great on other machines that are more flat, but I returned it.
