I purchased this primarily to 'blow' alcohol ink, but also thought I could use it with my alcohol ink markers, and it did work for both, but with some flaws.First I'll say that for me, I had no issues with the connector with my compressor, I was able to hook it up without difficulty - so that was good. After that, it was a bit awkward. The angle of the tip (I know it's made for markers but...) required some awkward wrist bends. That coupled with how/where the button sits on top led to more hand fatigue than I think was necessary. Even if there was a little lever that came off the side, that would have helped. The angle also makes it difficult to be clear on where your ink (the air) is going to go. With some practice you figure it out, but it's not totally intuitive. When using markers, and admittedly mine aren't Copic brand, it does definitely give an airbrush effect, but for me I'd get some dark "splatters" that would come out. I suppose this wouldn't be a big deal if you're doing a lot of coverage, but if you're looking for something a bit lighter, it's easy to ruin an effect. It is clever, though in that if you have markers you can airbrush, and my markers which aren't even the same shape as the Copics fit in easily.I wouldn't say this is at all a replacement for an airbrush, there's not as much control (not even remotely close), however there are definitely learning curves to airbrushing as well. I'd say this is easier to use immediately, without experience AND doesn't require all the cleaning, but just don't expect the same results as an airbrush. It's also pretty expensive for some plastic and a little metal - but well, it does say Copic on it, so...probably 'nuff said about that.

Let me start off by saying that i usually "paint" with copics, in that i treat them very much like watercolor. The airbrush does NOT mesh well with this style of working, as it lays dry layers of ink onto the surface of the paper. Quite logical, and honestly totally fine if you don't like to blend colors again after the fact. Which i do. And it created a monstrous mess that took me almost a full day of work to fix. However, if you're a hobbyist, crafter, or stamper, I can see this thing being quite beneficial. For me though, it was one of the worst art supply purchases i've made in a LONG while.

I bought this for my dad to paint his fishing lures. He LOVES this thing. He of course retro fitted some other markers to work with it as the Copic ones are obscenely priced but the device it self has worked wonderfully. I thought it would be bigger and it is a very light plastic but has held up so far :)

It's working great to add highlights along the backs of my Enrico Puglisi baitfish fly patterns.I feel it is much easier to use my small compressor with this kit, than the larger kit using the Copic aircans. I've used both. The only additional purchase is the correct hose to attach this to your compressor. I added a desicant air drier in-line due to the humidity here, but it's not needed.

This set was made to work with an air compressor.(also available at amazon) . For crafters or artists who want to air brush large backgrounds or use an airbrush frequently, this is a cost saving purchase. Compressor sold on amazon very competitive price. There is no (or very little if you wipe off the grip for the marker) clean up in comparison to paint. I purchased a mask for safety purchases to use this item & my compressor because I don't have a ventilated area but have read these markers are non toxic. Can also recommend copic markers also sold my amazon in kits. These markers have refills and nib replacements if needed, used a lot by anime artists.

I bought this for my wife, who creates custom greeting cards. She absolutely loves it! It is a great way to air-brish in any color for which you already have a Copic marker. It is simple to use and there is no clean-up afterward. You just clip your marker into the spray head and go to work! You do need a small airbrush compressor, but you don't need to buy an expensive one if you are a hobbyist. My wife is using the cheapest one offered by our local discount tool store and it is perfect. If you use Copic markers and want to expand your talents, this is definitely worth buying!

After trying all the adapters in my air compressor sets, I had to go to Fluid Connector Products in Salem, OR to get adapters to use the Copic system. The Copic has a British fitting on it and that had to be adapted to the fittings on my compressor. After getting that done, the product is fun and easy to use. I plan to use this system for fabric, cards, and jewelry. I have posted pictures of this product site.
