This is pretty cool ,only had for awhile but you can turn the knob all the way dwn with out stopping the pump or suction, I really like this feature. Great for changing socks or feeding time.

The pump I received is not the same one pictured on the box. The mounting screws shown for securing the O-ring are missing entirely, which raises concerns about sealing and durability. Even worse, the threading is not standard, making it nearly impossible to find compatible couplings or adapters. After wasting too much time trying to plumb it into my 1" PVC setup, I gave up. I ordered the eFlux 1900 hoping it would be better, but I’m skeptical it will be any easier; i will know tomorrow. To be proactive, I ordered a different pump that has proper screw mounts and standard threading, which will arrive two days after, exactly what this one should have had. Not worth the hassle.

The Current USA was a replacement for an Reef Octopus VarioS 8. It has performed better than expected and definitely delivers flow high enough to meet the needs of the aquarium (125 gallons). I will also note that I am running a manifold that feeds a chiller in addition to the display tank. The pump is quiet and I like the flow control panel and how precisely you can control the flow. Only drawback as noted by others is that the pump does not come with standard fitting sizes. It took a little work to adapt is to my aquarium plumbing.

I've had other sump pumps for my aquarium, and they just didn't seem to do the job. This CURRENT one and the ability to control the flow is just great!I haven't integrated it with my Current recirc pumps yet, but I am sure it will be just another PLUS when I do.

I bought this pump because I upgraded my lights to Current LEDS with the Bluetooth Loop system. I liked the fact that I control this pump with the Bluetooth controller. The pump came with all necessary 3/4 and 1 inch pumping, controller, power supply, mounting hardware and instructions. I run 3/4 inch in sump return line. So I attached the screen to intake and put the 3/4 inch hose barb on. I used a zip tie to secure the hose to the barb for extra safety. I then I mounted controller and set up with loop. I plugged in the power supply which by the way is same supply that is used for LED lights. I went into loop app and adjusted the power of the pump. The pump runs at 30 percent at lowest setting. It will not go any lower. After a few minutes of playing with volume I settled at 60 percent. I have a 55 gallon standard tank with a corner over flow. And in the pump settings I have the feed section on. The pump powers down to 30 percent for 10 mins for feeding mode. Then ramps back up. The pump is very quiet and powerful. Some things when setting up. First Current uses micro USB for the pump controller to Loop controller. The cord isn't that long. So plan accordingly. Next you have to plug the micro USB on the pump controller in the way instructions say. If not Loop will not control. Its the farthest right on the controller. The last thing is that this does not come with extra extension for pump power. I got lucky and didn't use the ones from my lights. So I used the one. The nice thing about this setup is the extensions are all universal. So they work on lights or pumps. About flow. You could get away with this pump probably up to a 75 gallon tank. But the same works perfectly for a 55 gallon. The last thing is customer service with Current. I had a few questions on setup. I called first thing when they opened. And got an answering machine. Left a message. I think they called back but I figured it out myself. I didn't try the email support so have no idea. Besides the customer support issue I would recommend Current products. I will update if I have any issues with this pump.

Installed this for my 90g and my 55g sump. Workes perfect, I even have to have it on half pressure. As it is hard working. I love it, it's awesome. So much room to play with, I can still drop it down or up if I need to. All this with about 3.5 feet of return from the sump to the display tank.

The pump is awesome. The attached controls can lose their mounts with no way to re- fasten.

This replaced my 14 year old Iwaki MD40 (Japanese motor) and another off brand pump that was feeding my reactor and skimmer.1. This pump is QUIET! The Iwaki sounded like it belonged in a diesel freight train even from day 1. This pump has just a slight hum and once the water is moving through the overflows and sump you don't even hear it.2. I have the IC Marine light bar and wave pumps so I added this to the network for feed mode. In feed mode it reduces to 30% flow and the wavemakers stop so that the fish and coral can eat. The 30% is supposed to keep backflow from happening but I like it because it's enough to keep the food suspended and off the sand and rocks but it's not enough to make the fish work for it.3. Power consumption has peaked out at 88 watts compared to the 140 from the Iwaki and 80 from the other pump. I monitor my pump consumption with Smartthings power plugs with metering built in. I have alerts setup that zero power consumption in 15 minutes triggers a text and app alert.4. Flow is very good, I've plumbed this in to my returns and teed off to feed the skimmer and reactor as well. I had 6 returns and I turned two off since I'm also running the wavemakers that more than make up for the shutdown return lines at the sand level. The skimmer, an EV-180 puts out wet foam and the reactor has good flow for the carbon and whatever else I throw in there.5. Two bad things and they're just minor is the barbed fittings are 1.5" and 1" so I needed to adapt my 1" feed up to 1.5 and the power cord was too short to reach my hub nest in the canopy. I had to buy an extension cord from Current to reach. If the cord was long like the power heads it would be better.
