I searched the internet trying to find chrome replacement plates like these for my 30-year-old pool ladder and step rail. Lots of generic options out there and everything chrome was actual metal. People sited in their reviews the metal rusted within the first year. I needed plastic that looked like chrome. These are it! Perfect fit, beautiful finish!

I tried the metal plates thinking they were better (and cheaper), but they didn't fit as well as these. Plus, I thought I could sand the inside of the metal plates to make them fit slightly out of round railings (years of locking them into place), but are only plated and they rust! These slide on well with no modification and are large enough to cover the opening around the railing anchor points. They also do not bend when sliding them on. One of the metal ones got a slight wrinkle in it on the edge when sliding it on. This is a case where plastic is much better.

Could of got a plastic one for much cheaper but for this price and it says "Chrome" I assumed it was metal.
