Also fits a 2002 civic lx. It’s not listed on the list of compatible models , but worked on my 2002 lx civic just fine !

It's hard to find the part but I finally found this one at Amazon and the price is not bad at $29 with keys. It fits perfectly on my 2005 Honda Civic LX trunk.

OEM key will not fit. This may have been an attempt to use lock design that will not self destruct BUT cannot be re keyed nor can the oem key fit in the slot. Unknown availability of duplicate key blanks can also be an issue.

My trunk lid lock froze up from old age on my 2005 Honda Civic coupe and this lock replacement worked perfectly! It was easy to remove the old lock cylinder/assembly from my trunk lid and had this new lock cylinder unit installed in under 15 minutes. And it works great now! You get 2 Honda-like keys with this lock cylinder unit....but no instructions. I watched it on You Tube and it was really easy to remove old unit & installed this new unit on my 2005 Honda Civic coupe. 5 stars!
