About this item

  • Flat Top Design
  • Machined from Solid Brass

Tone Pins are machined out of brass and fit almost all brands of six string acoustic guitars. By adding mass to the bridge, tone pins increase the clarity, sustain, and brightness of your overall tone. Various styles as well as inlay options will complement any instrument.

These pins are one of my favorite modifications to make to an acoustic. In my opinion they can make an even more dramatic difference in sound than replacing the saddle, nut, or both. They really brighten up the tone quite a bit for such a small modification. I really like brighter tones, especially with acoustics so I really like the results I get from these. I’ve heard and seen a few people say they were too small for their bridges, but I’ve actually had the opposite experience and they’ve been a little too big on every acoustic I’ve installed them on so far, but if you string your acoustic correctly it most likely won’t matter anyways.

Whenever I get a new guitar that has bridge pins, the first thing I do is replace the strings with a set of Elixers sets the bridge pins with a set that are brass. I like the Elixer strings because they have such good tone and they last a bit longer than uncoated strings, and I like the brass bridge pins because I feel that they contribute to a slightly a better sustain.due to their greater mass as opposed to plastic pins.Admittedly, this is subjective and I've never tested this theory in a scientific way; but for the cost, it satisfies my engineering fueled suspicions.

I wish these were all smooth and a bit smaller in the height of the head, something more sleek and graceful.

Noticeable difference, made the guitar louder fuller. Individual notes were more solid (like you can stand on them solid) and piano like. The gold finish was a bit much at first, but it soon tarnished to look like brass with a little help from the sweat on my hands. This must be the cheapest easiest upgrade you can make to you acoustic guitar.

I bought these on a whim, while ordering some other equipment. I put them on my Stewart & Patrick cedar top yesterday, and was blown away by the immediate change in the resonance of the guitar! I mean, it was pretty nice before, now it is WOW! The low end is rich, way more harmonics can be heard, and the top end is clear as a bell. Gorgeous long sustain now, too. It is WELL worth the money to pick these up. I will be buying another set for my girlfriend, and think that I'll probably get a set for each of my musician friends for Christmas.

First, the pins I received did not look like the ones on the picture! The ones on the picture look elegant, the ones I received look cheap and bulky. I would have returned them immediately but I needed replacements immediately and the same day I lost one of them. When I placed them on the guitar, I had a hard time because they did not fit well in the holes (too big!), and I had to force them in real hard (I could have used a hammer, which was definitely not a good idea!!!) So, because they were so hard to secure in their holes, they jumped out a few times and that's how I lost one of them! I have looked everywhere and could never find it! I ended up replacing the missing pin with an extra black plastic pin that I had, which fits perfectly but looks weird next to the other five big golden ones. I WOULD NOT recommend these pins at all. Next time I'll pay more and buy something else.

The bridge pins in the main picture should be the bridge pins you get. I got the all brass ones with no inlays sadly. They are supposed to be polished brass, but instead they have a cheap layer of gold paint on them that was already starting to flake off before I took them out of the package. The only good thing about these is they did improve brightness, and clarity somewhat.
