I have a 10K winch mounted on a beefy welded rack that I throw in the back of the truck when we are planning on going into rough back country areas. In the past I just used some long heavy-gauge jumper cables to power the winch, but then I saw someone else using this style of connectors and thought it would be perfect for my application. So far I haven't had a single issue with it and it doesn't seem to heat up when there's heavy current passing through it. I will probably look for a dust cap so that I can keep both ends clean and ready for immediate use.

Large Anderson plug for bigger cables (like on 8000+ winches, etc). Just hope you have some BIG cable crimpers or such for putting the cables to the connectors.
