I bought this netting in the past and just got it out to use last night. I had been using some bird netting - which was TERRIBLE. It stuck to itself, and piled up - living me sweaty and frustrated. THIS STUFF IS NOT LIKE THAT, but you need two people to install it. Unwind it from the card it is rolled onto and stretch it. Then place it around the pond - I use Harbor Freight tent pegs which are just large nails with green holders at the top. What I like about this net is the fact that it is thin enough to let us see our fish again! I find that those pesky herons are intimidatedby any size net. So far, this is working. I lost most of my goldfish last winter (Little Princess with the lacy, long, beautiful tail, Big Daddy with the huge gut)You know you have a problem when you name your feeder fish goldfish and have genuine affection for them.

Oh dear, we thought this was solution for when we are away...to keep the fishies safe. It did that, but a bird was caught in the netting...dead. Not the netting fault! It did work, but cannot stand coming home to find a bird, be it a Mourning Dove, dead...and knowing how it suffered as it struggled to get out. AND it is baby Gambil Quail season....so no more. Netting goes in the shed maybe for another use someday. Sad.

Cheap Net looks nothing like the Pictures paid over $20.00 time it was shipped. A bad deal it is like going through the drive thru and seeing a picture of a burger and fries and when you open up your order and it looks nothing like the picture of item you ordered. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP did I mention it is CHEAP MADE

It arrived as advertised. It is not the heaviest caliber (gauge?) and stretches easily e.g. with a load of wet leaves. For my 7' X 7' pond I decided to replace this with 36" roll of black plastic hardware cloth from HD. Took a little time to build a frame but should be well worth it going forward. This netting would probably be okay for "light use".

Just installed it tonight. Not sure how it will wear, but wow, so easy to use. Softer than nets I have used in the past, so it is easy to work around the rocks. Does not show too much. Hope it lasts as it is great so far.

I got this netting to keep the leaves out of our small pond.It is black, so it doesn't show much, and it will do exactly what we wanted.Putting the net over the pond was easy with two people, but I think one person could do it if the beginningside was anchored well. I used the rocks around the pond to hold down the net. We had some tent stakes, but we thought the rocks worked better, with less chance of tearing the net.I haven't had it very long, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to use the leaf blower to blow theleaves off the net, I'm hoping we will. If not, it should be easy to remove the net, shake it off and put it back.

In the 5 years I have lived at this address, have never seen a heron. One made it here, ate 2 of my goldfish and 6 of my baby fish. Three of them were kois. The netting I purchased does the trick, no fish lost since I draped it on my pond. It appears to be of good quality and was very reasonably priced. Shipping was fast, very pleased with my purchase.

Well I guess you get what you pay for. Product was smaller than advertised and not as easy to install. I wouldn't purchase another one. I would also recommend sticking to the stretchable string type version you put over trees to protect from the birds. Not recommended.Update: 13 Oct 2013.Here I am two years later and I am still using this net. I thought I would give an update. I originally rated this as 2 stars, but have up'ed to 4 stars. I do actually prefer this net to another nylon type net which was harder to work with. I have had this one since 2011 and am still using it on my pond to protect my fish from the heron we get in the spring and fall. It has lasted very well over the years and also serves well to catch leaves. I hardly have any leaves at the bottom of my pond. It also grows algae and plants (water cress) in the net which serves as food for the fish.Based on my original review, make sure you account for the size issue, this is probably still accurate, however I would recommend this net if the size meets your requirements as it has been very durable over the years. If I need to replace this net at some point, I will buy another of these, I didn't like the nylon net compared to this one even though the nylon seems more durable. Both have their pro's and con's. The nylon one is quick to catch and hook on corners which is nicely, but a but painful to manage in general.I use two nets, this one and the nylon one. I use the nylon one to raise the height over the pond (in the fall only), I throw couple of barrels under the nylon, this gives me extra protection from the herons during the fall.Recommended.
