For about $20 it's hard to go wrong with this moisture meter. The instructions aren't great, but adequate enough. It's pretty gravy to use other than figuring out which number selection matches which type of grain.It's lightweight and easy to transport or store. It takes just a minute to assemble or disassemble, so you can use the thin box it comes in as permanent storage if you want. From what I've experienced it seems pretty accurate on what I've tried it on.It's likely not as pinpoint precise as some higher end meters, but if you just need a fairly approximate reading, it's probably close enough. For general purpose monitoring for a farmer or basic monitoring it's probably fine. For readings that must be certified or documented then a more precise meter is probably needed.It says that this will work on forage.... I would take that to be corn silage, loose haylage, or loose grass. I've got meters and probes that are meant to be inserted into haybales to measure moisture and this does not appear to be meant for that purpose. Bottom line is don't count on this to be used to measure the moisture of baled hay.In closing, for roughly $20 I don't think you'll be disappointed with this meter. Even if you only get a year or two of use out of it then you're not out much if it doesn't hold up. It's a great inexpensive meter, particularly for an entry level product, and I would recommend it.
