P7 X.5 Controller is designed for Pit boss Series 3/4/5/7 Vertical Pellet Smoker control board replacement，it has 4 built-in program versions(3.5, 4.5, 5.5,7.0) to perfectly adapt OEM 3/4/5/7 - Series Vertical Pellet Smoker respectively. You can use it as normal by simply selecting a corresponding program version in line with the Vertical Pellet Smoker Model the first time you boot it.

How to choose OEM program for your grill model
- Press and hold the “P”SET Button when unplug
- PLUG THE UNIT then Release the“P”SET
- Press the Power Button to enter the Program Setting
- Rotate the knob to choose a corresponding code for your grill
- Press “P” SET button to confirm
- Unplug the unit to retain your selection
New Version Circuit Board is more secure and economic.(Refer to Igniter Short Circuit Test in video displayed)
Igniter short circuit will always lead to fuse burning up or even control board damage on old version circuit board. While New designed igniter controlling circuit can utterly prevents the controller from burning up due to the short circuit of the igniter rod. In most cases, even the fuse will stay in good condition when igniter short circuit occurs.

Bought two to fix the bbqs at work. One lasted a day the other one broke first try. Would stop feeding pellets and would over heat. Tried to reprogram same thing. Know also didn’t work on that one. The one worked perfect first day second day could go over 350 without it overheating. By 3rd day wouldn’t turn on at all. Junk. Wasted money. Should of just spent $20 more and bought one from pit boss

The item itself works great once installed. It took me about 2 hours because off dismantling and reassemble. 4-stars because while replacing isn't complicated, it isn't exactly easy. I had to empty the pellets and lay the smoker on its face to replace. I recommend using a raised surface of possible. It maintains temp, fit exactly as it should have and was a better value than replacing the whole smoker.

I have Austin XL 1100 copper series works 10 times better then the original and I really love the original. There is a learning curve. The PID control settings are alot different a little harder to set but once you do you will like it even better

control panel replacement worked great after program locked in ,, all the parts were easily installed.. temps hold really close to temp you set , better than the original

I replaced the bad controller with this one and it worked perfectly. The temperature probe was a little different than the original but I was able to install it without drilling any additional holes. The screen looked brighter and clearer than the original ever did.

The old thermostat control was malfunctioning. Hubby swapped it out with this one in about 20 minutes and life was back to normal again!Installation isn't too difficult (it only has a couple screws), some needle nose pliers are necessaryto work with the small wires.Now With the upgraded screen it is easy to see in the dark and in the blinding sun. The additional probe adds the extra temperature data to monitor not just the meat temperature but also the grill temp.The selectable temperature probes seems to be pretty accurate. All in all an affordable, upgraded replacement option. I’m happy with it!!
