I was able to use this flow meter with the proper connectors to measure a flow rate corresponding to 5 m/s from a slightly submerged 1/8 inch diameter water jet. Hook up 5 volts DC and ground to two of the wires and the square wave signal to the third wire. Make sure you understand the threads on these flowcmeters. They are not US threads but a Brittish system. You can also buy the brass adaptors on Amazon. The square wave frequency is proportional to the volume flow rate in liters per minute. The calibration is marked on the meter.
