A lot easier since most of the wood pieces are snap in which means a little less gluing! Overall a simpler project compared to some other ones I've done. (Calico critters pictured with for scale [and cuteness!])This would be really nice for a beginner.

I love to build room kits, miniatures, and booknooks. I loved the underwater scene of this kit it looked like a fun challenge because most of the ones I do complete are single rooms or houses. This kit has multiple levels. This kit did come with a small bottle of school type glue but other items are needed to complete the kit. My second photo is all the other tools I needed to use to complete it. There is many items that needed cut out and I spent roughly 8 hour over two days cutting everything out and writing the part number on the back. With the templates for the pieces that needed cut out from the cloth material in the kit I also separated those items by piece number. I did have a few issues with some of the cloth material falling apart after cutting. So I had to use some of the glue that came in kit around the edges so it would not come apart. There are items in this kit that I wish were different such as the boats are paper and I decided to make my own from air dry clay to give them more 3d appearance because in my opinion the paper looked flat and plain. I also decided to replace the the paper fish cutout with nail charms and nail decals because the little tiny fish were extremely difficult to cut out. The wiring was easy if you follow the directions. My favorite part is that this kit has a lot of room for customization especially if you have done these types of kits in the past. Since this kit has so many items that needed cut out and doesn't include all the tools needed to complete it I would not recommend it for beginners of this hobby. If you are looking for a fun challenge then this is the kit to get. The total time I spent on this kit is around 30 hours over 5 days. But that time also includes what I spent on doing customization. I have no photos of finished kit yet because I have ordered some extra lights and another lighting kit so I can light up the bottom underwater scene separately from the house portion of the kit. Will update my review when completed.

This is a dream build for the miniature crafter with advanced experience. (A nightmare for the beginner or intermediate level crafter.)This kit is a bare bones model that requires the builder to put together or apply EVERY detail. You will need tools and supplies that are not included. Most experienced miniature crafters have these on hand. It comes with a dust cover which is also a functional part of the finished kit.The instruction manual is more of a pictorial.."this is/are the part(s) you are looking for and this is what it should look like when done" guide. No hand holding, no step by step how to. You will need to figure things out as you go and use all the tricks you've learned from other builds. The kit I received came with a small bottle of white school glue. I will be substituting several types of Aleene's Tacky Craft Glues to suite each part of the project and ensure a stable and durable build. Craft scissors, a small craft knife, a straight edge/ruler, and tweezers bent and straight just to start! You will also need batteries for the lights but that is standard for any of these kits. Looking things over the hot glue gun may be put into action.I have done many many miniature builds, and I expect that this kit will take around 50 hours hands on time broken up into small sessions that include applying and building details. This estimate does not include glue dry time. So when I'm ready to dig in I will be working this kit as I have time for at least a month after work and weekends.I haven't been able to find a single video anywhere on-line that shows this kit as a step by step build with helpful hints. It is just too complicated I think. Just parts being done. But there are some that show progressions and the finished project. However I expect this to be a stunning project when completed.Plan on setting up a dedicated area for the kit to be worked start to finish without having to be moved. And be sure you can protect it from tiny hands and pets.If you are looking for a project for a very advanced miniature crafter, or have been seeking a serious challenge for yourself just short of designing and creating from scratch...this is it.

This kit is so cool. I have a ton of these miniatures and am always looking for something different. This 100% fit the bill. Multiple spaces, with one of them being underwater (and another including flying birds), definitely brings that extra something. This is a more advanced kit, which is great, and takes some good time. Make sure you bring your patience and don't rush, for best outcomes (this is true for any of these miniature kits). You will want some basic tools like scissors (a craft knife is also a good investment), small ruler, and good glue. The kit comes with white glue, but I like a nice wood glue, and since I do this a lot, I also have jewelry glue and fabric glue on hand. The kit itself is very cute and I'm excited to have it on my shelf.
