I bought 30 of these. About half price or less of metal onesThese worked great for my dock through muck, sand and small rocksI used metal ones in the past but the price brought me to these. They are everybody as good as metal. Some of my poles are 4' plus in the water. So much lighter then jagged metal ones. Great product

I had to use a belt sander to get these to fit inside 11/2" schedule 80 PVC. Once fitted, they work fine.

The construction seems fine, but i cant find a tight enough PVC to use it,1.5" same OD, and2" ID is too lose, sced 80 2" is a little better, but still not snug, what size pipe is it suppose to fit into?

I make my own bot anchor auger poles and until finding these high strength plastic auger I have used galvanized which are good as well just heavier and pose a hazard to your boat if not handled with care when storing or extracting. The plastic auger is much lighter and safer when bumped against your gel coat or glass deck, hull, etc. I install these using a 2" sch 40 PVC pipe and you will need to file the insert portion of the auger to fit the ID of the pipe but using a bench grinder it was fairly easy to achieve.
