We have neighbors who let their dogs bark constantly. This seemed to help quiet them. It also works for some smaller dogs who get close to me while I take my daily walk. The owners have an electric fence that goes almost to the side walk and they get very close. I will be keeping this on my key ring from now on.

I’m honestly confused and disappointed with these dog whistles. A couple of years ago, I bought a different set of two whistles that worked great for recalling my dogs, even from long distances. They had an average of only 3 stars in reviews, but they worked great for my dogs. Now I picked up these whistles (since I lost my old ones), and while they have 5-star reviews, I just don’t feel the same about them. Maybe my dogs are just weird? I don’t know. But the listings have the same exact photo so I assumed the same product. Maybe not.One major issue is that these whistles are very audible to people. I usually can’t hear high-frequency sounds well due to being hard of hearing, but I can hear these whistles fairly clear, which makes me question how attention-getting they really are for dogs. They do get my dogs to look at me initially since it’s a new sound, but they’re pretty much useless for long-range recall.I have a couple of acres of cleared land, and I like to let my dogs out a few times a day to potty and play. With my old whistles, I could stand at my front door, blow it a couple of times, and they’d come running. With these? They ignore them completely unless they can actually see me.Not pleased with this item. And neither are the other people hear them--instant headache! I remember my nephew (who lives on my property) happened to walk by my house when I was recalling my dogs with the old whistles and him commenting on how he had been wondering where the weird sound he could just hear, but not really hear, was coming from--mystery solved. So the old whistles definitely had a different tone which is likely what made them so much better for my dog recall.

These are great if you're training an untrained dog either directly (or even indirectly in some cases). Even when I'm not in the same room as my dog, blowing on this is enough to at least make him distracted enough to take his focus away from whatever he's barking at and get it back to me telling him to stop.

Doesn’t work at all. My friend’s dog just looked at me with this grin on its face like really, and just continued to bark so now this don’t work at all.

I started using these whistles recently, and they have been a really easy and simple way to train my dog. The whistles are lightweight and easy to carry around, I usually just clip them to my keys this way I avoid losing them.Their sound is something that my dog reacts to pretty well, although it did take a bit of time for my furry companion start getting used to. It’s not something I can hear much, but it gets her attention, which is what I was hoping for.I don’t need to go around carrying both whistles, so I leave one at home and take the other one with me, and it has been really helpful when we’re at the park, and my dog ends up getting distracted by the other dogs. Therefore, I like these whistles because they’re simple to use, there’s no complicated setup or anything, I just blow into them. I wouldn’t say that it is some magical solution, but it’s been helpful for basic commands and recall.

The whistle emits an audible sound, but it doesn't seem to have much effect on the surrounding neighborhood dogs. It also seems to require a ton of blowing force to get any range out of it.I don't have a frequency analyzer to properly test or confirm anything, but it is known that some dogs respond differently to different high frequency ranges. These might be more useful for localized use against your own dog during training when they are nearby. The physical whistle itself is well constructed but there was a weird numbing feeling / residue on the whistle, which went away after cleaning them with rubbing alcohol.

I just received the dog whistle today, so I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, but I wanted to share my first impressions based on the design and materials. The whistle itself is lightweight and feels solid. It’s made from food-grade PP material, which is nice because it reassures me that it’s safe for dogs. I’m always cautious about what I use around my pets, so the fact that this is made from non-toxic materials makes it more appealing right off the bat.The whistle features three different channels for emitting ultrasonic sounds. It’s interesting to see that these frequencies can be combined, which I think will make it versatile enough for different dogs. I imagine this will come in handy, especially if you’re working with dogs that have different sensitivities to sound. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I do like that I can switch between different frequencies, so I won’t need to guess what works best for my dog. It seems like it’ll be effective for not just getting a dog’s attention, but for training purposes as well. The whistle’s design is straightforward—nothing too fancy, but it looks like it will do its job. I like that it’s small enough to carry around easily in my pocket or bag. Plus, I’m glad that it doesn’t have any obvious sharp edges or parts that could potentially harm my dog during use. Overall, it seems like a well-thought-out product, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs once I start using it.

this whistle is audible to the human ear. that is NOT ultrasonic. we tested it on the dogs. one dog was interested at first but then lost interest. the other dog did not react at all. lol. it gave 2 humans out of 3 a headache.
