Dorman makes good aftermarket parts. I am happy with this tailgate strap. It is my own fault but I didn't read well enough to notice that each order is only one strap. For the price though I don't have a problem buying another one. It is a little longer than the factory one but if you end up buying two then there is no issues.

After about 8 months of only having ine tailgate cable. I finally ordered one and i have to say it surpassed all expectations. It installed in no time. The holes were perfect fit for my screws. And i instantly noticed change in the manner of which my tailgate holds weoght. Unfortunately after 8 months of all the weoght being put on one cable, that cable is a little stretched so i will probably get another one.

Fit perfectly. installed in minutes with a torx bit. Need to buy in pairs, length is slightly different from originals and there's a hook on originals, at tailgate end, not on replacements. It may be to control the way the cable folds when closing tailgate. Replacements worked great, I'm very happy with them.

As fate would have it, both of my OEM tailgate cables broke at the same time. I thought I'd try these as they had mostly positive reviews. The item DOES NOT match the photo, the metal tit is missing on both post connectors, though this doesn't affect performance.Of greater concern is the QC on the manufacturing of these cables is obviously "loose". My identical cables are of different lengths (approx .7cm (~1/4 inch)) this results in one being slightly slacked while the other is taught.May not be an issue, but thought I'd let this be known...

I'll make this short and sweet. If you have an older Dodge pickup, and the cables haven't failed...they are probably about to. Mine did.After wasting a trip to the junkyard to find replacements I ordered these. I wish I'd done that first and saved all the diesel. These things are really well made and seem to be better quality than the junk that failed. Price is right also.P.S. You may need to get some large star sockets to take off the security bolts on the bed if you don't already have a set.

This item fit installation points to a tee. I had it installed in minutes and looks great. My cables failed long ago as many dodge truck cables do and it was great to restore them, and get the proper use out of my tailgate. One minus was the box that they were shipped in was enormus for the product, which cost me more in shipping. Size counts!
