It works although the plastic u clip the holds the temp sensor in is thinner than the original

Big suprise when the new clip to retain the temp sender decided it was not up the task, nothing like a scalding shower of hot coolant, I would highly recommend throwing out the new clip and re-use the original because it is a much sturdier piece. Hopefully the housing is better quality. Normally Dorman products are way better than the oe parts, unless this was a counterfeit part. I would recommend this part.

I love the availability and price of this part on one hand, on the other I wish that a 12 year old VW wouldn't need every single plastic part in the cooling system replaced because of rot. There's a lot of plastic. This went, Y-pipe went, plastic coupler that seems to serve no purpose failed, and then the coolant after-run pump blew up. It's ridiculous, especially on a relatively low-mileage well maintained car. I decided to sell the car after discovering the rotten rat's nest that is the PCV system

The little clip is fragile, unlike the OEM part, so be careful with removing/installing your old one. Other than that it seems fine. Didn't stop my leak though, just reduced it. Next time I'm going OEM.
