Great part for the money! It was a pain to install but that’s not the parts fault. If you buy it, I’d get it from here and then plan on a solid 4 hours to install it.

Works great. Old one was sticking, but this one is smooth and springy. You have access to push the springy part to see. Turned out the rough idle and stalling after coming to a stop when hot was due to weak Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve, so check that, too. I had disassembled and cleaned throttle body and IAC and IAC tested OK with temperature and voltage but not while installed. Ready to race to a stop and not stall now.

Seems to work okay. Will update if it stops working any time soon. It was missing the gasket that goes on the bottom of the EGR valve that meets the pipe, maybe it doesnt come with it though. The other gasket that goes where it meets the intake manifold did come with it. So plan ahead and get the other gasket ordered at the same time. The small gasket that goes on bottom of EGR to pipe - Autozone, Advance auto parts,Oreileys auto parts, Napa, they all do not carry them and will have to be ordered as its a vendor only part direct from vendors so keep that in mind.

Worked perfect. Does come with metal bi-layer gasket for install. Don't forget to check DPFV (delta pressure feedback valve) but if your EGR valve doesn't have a busted diaphragm, go ahead and buy a VSV valve for your Toyota as well or you'll still be chasing evaporative codes.

Kept having check engine light on and rough idle on a 4 cyl 98 RAV4, stumble during acceleration. Had the same error code (think it was P401-Insufficient EGR Flow), would come on every couple days. Purchased this, COMES with lower gasket-by the way. Easy install, about 15 minutes....and much smoother idle and driving now. No check light so far, been about 2 weeks. 5 Stars!

This is not an exact fit. The OEM EGR valve has a male connection at the bottom. However, the cost of the OEM EGR valve is around 150.00 dollars. So I used a adapter from the plumbing section at my local hardware store to improvise. Its best to remove the EGR pipe from the back of the cylinder head first. Screw the adapter to the base of the new EGR valve. Then connect it to the pipe. Fasten the EGR assembly loosely to the rear of the cylinder head. Put a new gasket on the intake manifold and start the 2 bolts a few turns into the intake manifold. Finish tightening the assembly completely, and attach your vacuum lines correctly as each has a letter designating the proper routing of the vacuum lines. Dont forget to test and clean your old vacuum modulator located near the EGR Valve. And check for old vacuum hoses and leaks in the system.

I bought it in the middle of diangnosing my EGR system and its components. Later I figured out that the problem is not with the OEM valve in my 1999 RAV4 but it is with the VSV.I changed the VSV and the code P0401 and check engine light is gone.I kept the this valve and I didn't return as a backup and coz of its excellent condition.
