This Dorman C660016 Parking Brake Cable was a direct fit to replace my OEM on my 2005 GMC that is where the positives end.This cable was a cheaply made replacement. Starting at the wheel end and working forward.1. The spring was larger than the OEM and it presses on the dust boot for the brake lever I can only assume it will tear the boot eventually.2.The retaining clip was made from metal vs the OEM plastic and has 3 spring tabs that protrude far enough for the spring to catch on them making the installation difficult and the metal will rust here in the rust belt.3. The mounting hanger was made from metal about half as thick as the OEM and did not have an anti-rotate tab, the anti-corrosion coating was visibly weaker than the OEM.4.The Dorman cable did not have wear sleeves at the rub points as the OEM did, I cut some PEX tubing and put it over the cable in the spots that would rub.5.The retaining clip at the front end was the same as the rear end.6.The plastic coating over the sheath was noticably thinner than the OEM cable.7.The wire rope inside was not plastic coated like the OEM this is the worst deficiency as the cable will probably corrode and seize quickly.The lesson here is spend the extra few dollars and buy the OEM cable.
