The 3" entrance and exit necks down to 2 1/2" or less inside the muffler. This should not make a difference for my application (under 500H.P.) But for others with big power I'd look at Flowmasters instead. I wanted the quietest mufflers I could find without loosing power. By the way I first purchased 2.5" Super Turbo mufflers which were NOT as described at all, completely different design all together. I had to eat them as I had them too long before opening the box to find out I was duped by Dynocrax.
