NOPE. They are not 2.5"!! I couldn't even fit a small snack bag of fruit snacks. See my picture. The blue one is from this seller. The orange one is from Walmart and says its 2.17", so there is no way the blue one measures larger.

I ordered these plastic Easter eggs to make an Easter basket for an 8 year old granddaughter. These arrive nestled together in a small box. Each egg is hinged with a top and bottom tethered by a short piece of.plastic. They’re easy to open and snap closed. They’re about the size of a normal extra large egg, maybe slightly larger. They’re just big enough to hold a few jelly beans or one or two bite-sized candies. This set has a lot more than I needed, but the extras can be saved and used next year. Force money involved, this is a good value.

I put together a neighborhood egg hunt and had searched for lots of great things for the kids. These were a little small and didn’t hold much candy. I found larger eggs at a cheaper price at Walmart.
