Yes, ECPPP recommends replacing all componentsof the timing system at the same time. The useof worn sprockets may cause the chain to fail tomesh with the worn sprockets, resulting in poorengine performance.

The mechanic said the cam sprocket didn't fit snugly and I had to go with the existing cam sprocket. The main issue was the chain and the tensioner rails so this wasn't a big deal. However, the mechanic also mentioned that one of the tensioner rails wasn't an exact fit either so they would have to cut off a part of the rail to make it fit.

Box has the correct description but contains a single chain, 2 sprockets, a tensioner, and metal guides. Description clearly list the items that would be correct for the application unfortunately the package does not.

Changing out the timing chains and sprockets and tensioners on a modular Ford motor seems like a very challenging job. But to tell you the truth after watching a few instructional videos and there are many on YouTube you don't necessarily have to see your vehicle being repaired to understand the procedure of installing these parts as all modular Motors primarily are the same it's just a matter of your radiator and other component placement that's the difference under the hood. I wish this kid would have come with timing chain cover gaskets that way I wouldn't have to buy those as extra I assumed they would come with the kit but beyond that the only special tools you really need this job are harmonic balancer polar and the cam locking tool kit that stops the cam from rotating during the installation of the new chain. If it'll take you at least a day to do the whole job and in the instructional videos on YouTube cleaning out all of the debris of from the nooks and crannies is very important to keep everything clean. I would say somebody with basic mechanical knowledge can do this job and we'll definitely feel proud of them self and more confident after finishing
